I've bought several Yorkies lately after having ignored them for many years. I've tried Raisin and Biscuit, Hot Rum and 'ordinary' varieties (Biscuit seems to have been discontinued altogether). Would anyone agree that they are just not the same as in the Rowntree days? Judging by those I've bought recently, the smooth, creamy taste and texture of old seems to have given way to an excessively sweet, powdery quality. Reminiscent in fact of the 'chocolate-flavour candy' used in (very) cheap Xmas tree decorations! I've written to Nestle about this, but predictably, they deny that the recipe has been tampered with. What do you think?
