Ketchup
« on: February 16, 2006, 09:32:25 am »
I heard these two women on the tills at the discount warehouse the other day talking about cooking, and one said she used ketchup in all her cooking. My first thought was 'chav!' but then last night, I was making tomato and bean couscous and realised I had no tomato puree. I thought 'I wonder?'... and would you believe, it works!

I wouldn't use it in all my cooking though.

No, don't imagine it would be much use in a curry or a cheese sauce! But a quick splodge did just add that extra tomatoey taste.

I use Worcester Sauce kind of ketchup in lots of mince diishes but don't use tomato ketchup at all very much. The kids like it on chips but I prefer sald cream on my chips!

I am another fan of salad cream on chips.  But of course that was before The Diet.  Sigh.

Seems that salad cream is more popular than ketchup on this Forum. How is the diet going Goldencup?
