Have you felt the bubbles melt....?
« on: October 28, 2004, 10:48:58 am »

......NO!!  Maybe it's just gullible me, but, having viewed the 'Aero' advert declaring "don't bite it, just let it melt" I rushed out, purchased said aero and gave it a go......

NO bubbles experience, and it took ages to melt!

Anyone else have any luck?

Well it did sorta go melty, but then chocolate does when you eat it doesnt it! Its just a gimmick. I expect they use it to get all little children, and indeed adults to go to the shops and buy an aero just cos they saw the advert, to "feel the bubbles melt".

Seeing the headline made me remember that if you don't sit VERY still in a bath after you have let rip, it can be rather malodorous.

Aero? Nah! A lot of marketing p*sh!

If its true about Aero and sucking then it must be aimed at the Very Old.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that elderly people seem to go for hard confectionary? (I didn't mean that to sound en-par with hard drugs!)

My Nan, in her defiance of having false teeth, used to LOVE chocolate eclairs - the harder the better. My brother-in-laws' grandmother (!) from Prague only stocks up on Dime and brittle toffee whenever she visits.

Maybe its a nostalgia thing? Did elderly people eat a lot of toffee/hard sweets back in the day?

That's very true. I used to work with the elderly and they would send me shopping for assorted toffees, peanut brittle and mint humbugs. I suppose they were value for money as struggling with their teeth a good toffee could last 45 minutes.

Pop a sweet in, sticks to falsers, time for tea. Take teeth out. Have tea (mince and mash). Pop teeth back in, start sucking again.
