Crikey that's a lot of work for your friend and for the environmental health dept.

I think someone from the environmental health should move in with the person complaining and stay there until enough evidence has been gathered. If there isn't room in the house perhaps a tent in the garden?

I bet that would make things move along faster. At least it would with my cooking.

my friend had to phone environmental health each and every time it happened. She also kept a diary of incidents.

I had to call environmental health last year and they came to my flat to witness the noise nuisance. After this they wrote to the people in question and gave me a diary to record further incidents. They seemed to stop playing music after that, but recently seem to think it's ok to start playing it again.

The worst neighbour I had was when I lived in Sunderland. Each weekend all the riff raff gathered at his flat playing loud music and throwing empty beer cans and pizza boxes into my garden. One Sunday I woke to see someone had painted paedophile and kiddie touching bastard all over his walls in bright yellow. A local villain had been in prison for burglary and recognised him. That was when I was in my twenties and renting and my dad came with a van the same day and moved me back home.

I pity anyone who has to live/has lived in Sunderland. Horrible horrible place. They have a huge hospital and no wonder, the amount of people who get attacked or beaten up there.

That's a bit harsh kev. I've never lived there for 16 years but my family do and I find it is the same there as anywhere else, good areas and bad areas. It is statistically proven Sunderlands crime rate is a lot less that that of Leeds .

I have a friend who lives in Sunderland and from what I've heard it's horrible. I've heard other horror stories too. From what I understand Middlesborough is even worse. I'm not saying Leeds is any better cos it isn't - I can't wait to move.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Middlesborough will be a ghost-town in years to come because everyone moves away from there.

Middlesbrough is indeed a bad place to live. Not many people like Sunderland as it is the most racist city in the country and they don't tolerate ethnic minorities. Where do you plan to move to kev?

I'm moving to the centre area of Newcastle as soon as I get a flat. I've had an offer for a place and hopefully will be moving soon.

If you heard Sunderland is rough you don't want to live in Newcastle. Heaton in the east end has a high burglary rate. Don't go out alone in the west end ( Scotswood, Elswick, Blaydon, Benwell). Newcastle city centre is fine but nowhere around it.
