Don't know if this one's been mentioned before.
This site is cheating a bit - some of pictures are modern versions of the old bars (Blue Riband for example - it wasn't made by Nestle in the 1970s).
Some of the products are still around.
Amazin Raisin never had rum in it. And the song lyrics are wrong!
Still - it was nice to see a Jamboree Bag and a Jubbly.
Thanks for that referral goldencup. I was wondering where the link was on this site.
Oldspice it's not so much cheating just really hard finding the original wrapper pics which is really what I would prefer.
Anyone out there got any original wrapper pics from the seventies I would be truly grateful.
No trouble Glamrocker, I enjoyed looking at the site in general, not just the sweets bit.
Original wrappers? Er - no!
I enjoyed reading about the fashions. I confess to having worn skinny-rib tops, Oxford bags, cheesecloth tops, midi skirts and love beads.
Not all at once though.
Any of you 'old girls' remember wearing clogs? Cork sandles? Crochet hats (like old ladies!), smock tops?
I loved the cheesecloth shirts along with my corduroys but my fave thing had to be my Starsky Cardigan.
Glamrock - did you have some of those trousers with a wide waistband and about tree belts and a pocket mid-thigh?
Did you wear shirts with round collars? Did you have a matching shirt and tie in a garish pattern and colour?
Did you have a bubble perm? Did you like Sweet, T Rex, Mott The Hoople and The Rubettes?
Where did you grow up? (If at all)
Oldspice, have a look at the bit on the website about 'Why the 70's' - it's well worth reading.
I went to see 'T Rexstacy' on Monday - they were brilliant!

I'm off to Butlins for the seventies weekend in December. Now that should be a real mad weekend.
I loved the high waistband trousers with huge balloon bell bottoms lol does make me laugh thinking about those and how cool we thought we looked.

Hi Just had this posted on my forums.
Jackie Annual
Just saw on GMTV, that they are bringing out a seventies edition of the Jackie Annual at christmas, it has articles, piccies and stories from the seventies, with some interviews of pop stars back then.
Looked quite nostalgic
Hattie
Ah, all those cheesey stories - 'Cathy & Claire', 'Dear Doctor.' Interview with 'pop stars' that never became pop stars such as Andy and David Williams (twin nephews of the ancient Andy Williams).
I shall have to look out for it!
I have a piccie of the Williams twins. They were HIDEOUS!!
I used to devour the Cathy & Claire page:
Dear Cathy & Claire,
I gave a boy in my class a French snog at the school disco. Now everyone thinks I'm cheap. What can I do? Please help. Judith.
Dear Judith,
Shouldn't have been such a dirty little ho should you then? That'll teach you, whore.
Love and kisses Cathy and Claire
Dear Cathy & Claire,
I gave a boy in my class a French snog at the school disco. Could I be pregnant?
Possibly pregnant in Plymouth
Dear Cathy and Claire,
My frined is a 34b but I am only a 32aa. Should I stuff my bra with tissue? The boys never look at me.
Ursula
Dear Cathy and Claire,
I know you'll think I'm silly but I am in love with Cliff Richard and I want to contact him to tell him. My mum tells me its a crush but all I want to do is crush him in my arms and marry him.
I can't get over him. I know I'll love him for ever and ever. Please don't tell me to find a boy of my own because I just can't. I really need to contact him to tell him how I feel.
Dear Cathy and Claire,
What's this yellowy fluid leaking from my auntie Mary?
They have certailny changed now. The teenage mags are full of let's say *adult* content now.
Why do the kids want to grow up so fast?
I think I may have an album in my seventies collection. I'll take a look and maybe post a snippett.
Nope no Girlie annuals.
Can anyone out there remember the TV programmes of the seventies? I've uploaded quite a few but because I was only little I wasn't allowed to stay up to watch any of the really interesting ones.
Again any help would be appreciated.
p.s I hear a rumour that Catweazle is going to be released on DVD!
The Persuaders
The Champions
Strange Report
The Onedin Line
Upstairs Downstairs
Randle & Hopkirk
Angels
Crossroads
Juliet Bravo
The Gentle Touch
The Sweeney
Grange Hill
Thanks Spicey, There's a few there I haven't got.
Used to love The Champions and Randall and Hopkirk
I loved The Champions too. I was in love with Craig. Mind you, I was only about 12 or 13!
I actually didn't watch much TV in those days because I didn't have TV in the house until I was about 11 or 12 and by then I had lots of other things to do in the evenings like youth club and.... Girls Brigade!
We had one, absolutley huge but not colour.
It was weird how the vertical hold was always adjustable by a bang on the top!!
*laughing*
No wasn't that bad but it was called the Big Match in those days.
