It's been 6 weeks since I had maltesers and today I bought some and they taste horrible. The chocolate tastes greasy and rather cooking chocolatified. Has anyone else noticed this or is it my taste buds playing tricks on me.
-
It might have been a bad batch but they have deteriorated.
-
I thought perhaps with me dieting and not eating as much choc as usual it might have been my taste buds but my friend said she thought they tasted different too.
-
Well I shared a pouch of them and a pouch of Revels tonight and I thought they were fine.
Straight from the fridge, mind.
Toffees
-
were bloody sore!
-
The white choc Maltesers taste greasy and bland, no idea why they're so popular. Ages since I had milk choc ones.
-
I will have to try some now to test lou's theory!
I really fancy plain choc Maltesers. i think the combination of plain choc and malt would go well.
-
I'm thinking it's a taste bud thing cos I just had a Twirl and didn't enjoy it.
-
I had some last week and I thought there were fine. Might have been a bad batch like bounty suggested.

new chocreview fella here.... I am having an argument with a woman here at work over the existance of a coconut revel. She is adamant one existed some time ago...
... anyone remember?
-
Hi Buddhafella, welcome. She's right - there was a coconut one some years ago.
-
Cheers oldspice. Looks like I'm gonna have to eat humble pie.
-
Did you know, Humble is the middle English word for offal.

...and it isn't in your character!
-
What is in a humble pie?
-
I'd take a guess at offal!
-
Yes, in mediaeval days the common man could only afford the horrible bits like the gizzard and kidneys and made them into a pie to make it palatable. Only the toffs had enough money for proper meat.
-
Just like today then.
-
-
A coconut revel would be nice. Anyone like to see the return of this?
-
Yes me.
-
Me too to replace the coffee one or the hard toffee one. They should do
a fudge revel instead of toffee. And am I the only one who thinks
Maltesers just don't belong in a bag of Revels...?
-
I am not a fan of Maltesers as i don't like the crunchy feeling on my teeth. I love the coffee revels I could have a whole bag of just them. The toffee ones are awful.
-
I agree with kev. Get rid of the coffee one and the malteser doesn't belong neither.
-
I dont see the point of the malteaser on as you can buy a bag of
malteasers. Axe the malteaser and replace with a coconut one.
-
Make the toffee one bigger.

A coconut Malteser? Now there's an idea...
-
Maltesers with different fillings would be a nice change.
-
As in different flavours?
-
Yes like strawberry, peach, apple, blueberry, apricot, cherry, vanilla, raspberry, rhubarb, orange, lemon, lime, blackcurrant, peanut, raisin, nougat.
-
-
or marmite.

-
A nougat flavoured malteser? If you take away the "malt" then it wont be a malteser anymore... i like them as they are
-
I just ate some Cherry Ripe Chocettes from Cybercandy
They are the size of Maltesers but are dark choc with cherry flavoured coconut inside. Very tasty. Kind of like Poppets if you remember those, but cherry flavour.

Thhink thats all the flavours covered then!
They should do 2 different bags of revels. The revels that are out at
the moment will stay the same and an exotic bag called revels twist or
something like that. It could contain some of the different flavours
lou mentioned above.
