I know it isn't choc, but I see we can discuss other things on here now.
I bought some from an old fashioned sweet shop today, out of a jar.
I had forgotten how addictive this stuff is. Do they lace it with drugs?????
To those unfamiliar with it, it is strands of coconut with a "brown" sugar sprinkled over it.
RIGHT THAT'S IT, I AM AWAY FOR SOME MORE!
3/4 of just over a quarter pound bag of it.
Yes Bounty, I know *sigh*. That is what the man in the shop described it as when he weighed it out. Strictly speaking it must be around 550 grams.
Mmm yum!
Does anyone remember chocolate crumble? I think it was called that? It was like chocolate, toffee and biscuit all squashed together.
Took some to work today.
What a bunch of miserable bastards!
Those that had heard of it said "I don't like it"
Those who hadn't either took one look, a quick sniff or a little taste and said "Oooh, that's horrible"
Free sweets? THEY CAN STICK IT UP THEIR ASS!
I do apologise for the language. I get easily upset!
I don't like metric when it comes to weights. Ask for a 1/3 of a kg and see what you get. It's impossible to have exactly 1/3 in metric.
I usually say can I have a £1 worth of that please.
Because 1/3 is a repeating decimal number. It's not like 1/2 = 0.5 but is 0.33333333333333333333333333333333333333 etc forever, so it's impossible to be sure you've got 0.3333333 and not 0.333333334 or 0.3333333332.
However it's understood that 1/3 is just that - one third, so imperial doesn't have the implicit accuracy of it's decimal equivalent and doesn't have the associated anamoly.
