Title: Advent Calendars
Post by: chocolate chick on October 12, 2004, 11:46:21 am

Has anyone else seen the good range of Advent Calendars now avaliable?

The Malteser one has a Malteser ball behind each door

The Crunchie one has the Crunchie bit behind each door

And the Kinder one is fantastic. Has those little squares of Buero and other Kinder range, Maxi bits, Happy Hippos and a Kinder Suprise behind the doors. (I can confess to having brought this at the weekend!!)

I see them in Woolowrths. But I can imagine they are avalible elsewhere. Think my mum paid 4.99 for it but if you want more than a 10p sized piece of choc each morning it's well worth it!

Thanks I'll go and investigate my local Woolies.  Somerfield had Cadburys advent calendars for 99p a couple of weeks ago but they'd all gone when I went back to buy some.

The Lindt one was fantastic. I had it last year. It has those small squares of Lindt choc along with choc balls and on Christmas Eve there is a small Lindt Santa behind the door.

Sometimes with advent calendars I forget to open the doors on the days and then they build up so I have 4 or 5 to open in one go. I think you are a star choc chick to be so good to open the doors on the right days and not cheat.

I love chocolate but I can wait. It spoils it if you open the doors too soon! My Kinder advent calendar is sitting on the shelf in my room. Roll on December 1st!

Me and my boyfriend were messing about saying we should get an advent calendar for November, so we can count down the days til December! Think he is aware I am a bit nuts!

What is Sponge Bob Square Pants?
Title: Advent Calendars
Post by: oldspice on October 20, 2004, 10:07:17 pm

It is the name of a cake bar sold in (wait for it....) America around which a whole character has been built.

As previously stated, the Americans seem to choose funny names for their sweets/foods (sorry Sillyyank - but Sponge Bob Square Pants is rather silly). What about Twinkies?

I didn't know it was a cake bar - I've only seen the cartoon!

I think they are something like twiglets.
Title: Advent Calendars

They are cakes from Amercian. They are a light sponge with a cream in the middle. They are on cybercandy. I love them...but thats my opinion.

One of my American colleagues brought some in to work. I didn't like them much. They looked and tasted like sponge hair rollers filled with styling mousse! The thing is, they are an American classic and very fondly thought of over there but I thought they were a let down.
