You have been duped by another site member.

Cadbury wouldn't dare top be so imaginative.

Ask them for a variation on a Dairy Milk instead, say, DM with chocolate in it.

Bar Six was delicious. Pacers were wonderful too. I remember them as Opal Mints. Spangles went through a few changes during my childhood. First they were a range of boiled sweets in packets. There was a fruit one, a goldern mint one, a candy mint one, barley sugar, acid drops and a mixed pack called Old English. Then they got rid of some of the varieties and introduced fizzy orange an fizzy lemon flavours with chewy fillings. That's when they made the cola ones too. Then, suddenly, they all went.

A few years ago they brought back the fruit ones. Big mistake. Too boring. They should have made the flavour more exciting.

Ooh, looks like we have someone here with a memory to rival Oldspice!  I am of almost the same vintage myself Maggie but sadly don't remember my childhood favourites in such detail.

I remember all those Spangles flavours! Especially the acid drop ones! We always had them when we went on holiday. Mum thought they'd stop us being sick on the coach.

It's nice to have another wrinkley on board.

Maggie - do you remember Opal Toffees? I can't find anyone who does.

Which Spangles had the question marks on the wrapper? The question marks are the only things I remember about Spangles. It would have been late 70s I guess.

I would like maynards to bring back round milk gums (in small packets) and for Fruit Spangles but with more than one grapefuit flavour in a pack.

Yay, I used to love Maynards milk gums - they were much nicer than milk bottles.

Sweet manufacturers seem to replace old favourites, with larger more expensive packs of less tasty ones. Adults seem to have little or no influence on the market although we still make up a high percentage of purchasers. Well we would do if the right sweets were still availlable.

I wonder why they never made aniseed candy Spangles?

I miss so many chocolate bars. Every now and then I remember another one. Like, I am sure that years ago, Picnics did not have nuts in them - only raisins and wafer. Then they added the nuts in the 70s. What do you all think?
