Title: The storm

Well, we've had a bit of rain and some blustery bits of wind - but so far the storm has not hit us - although they say it will do so later this morning (Monday).

People further south have had it much worse (my daughter lives in Ramsgate and works for the emergency services).

Hope you are all Ok and all your properties/cars and so on are intact!

Happy to hear you're safe and well oldspice and really hope your daughter is all right. It seems to have hit the south much worse than anywhere else.

We live in a very windy area, right on the coast, so we spent yesterday moving anything that could be blown about, and tying down everything we couldn't move, but we were hardly touched.
Yes it was windy last night and the early hours of this morning, but it was nothing worse than we expect at this time of year.
Watching some of the tragic stories on the news this afternoon I think we were very lucky indeed.

Glad to hear that Rainbow. My daughter phoned before she went to work and was unsure how she would get there as there were lots of trees in the road into Canterbury. I expect she will be very busy today (she's a critical care paramedic) helping people in their homes when they cannot be transported to hospital but how she will get around with roads blocked I don't know!

I think in a situation like that I would be tempted to go by bike. Might take longer but would be great for getting through tighter spaces and gaps.
Really wishing there are not too many people that need her help today. ~x~

Well, it was indeed a bit blustery here... but I've seen worse. Didn't even lose Sky signal.

I love storms... but not on nights when there's live wrestling on and the signal is in danger!
