We occasionally hear about that lovely old classic Mint Cracknell - but does anyone remember its sister bar - Lime Cracknell? It was out for about three to four years in the mid to late 70s.

Lime is one fruit I've never thought goes with chocolate - but maybe those horrible chocolate lime sweets you get have put me off! Perhaps a decent lime-filled chocolate would change my mind.
-
Oh Smurfy you should have tasted the old Milk Tray selection! There was one called Lime Barrel which was thick chocolate with a lime crodial filling. It was divine. I can't think why they got rid of them (about 1975 I think).
A few years back - Thorntons did a white chocolate Lime Truffle. It was wonderful. Creamy but sharp and just the right amount of sweetness.
Chocolate Limes - those horrible green sweets with lime candy and chocolate paste stuff inside just don't do the chocolate/lime combination justice.

Ugh I have terrible memories of that lime barrel in the Milk Tray bar - the nasty thing always used to break and ooze its green slime over the rest of the bar!
-
Lime and chocolate just shouldn't be mixed. I remember those evil chocolate limes that aunties and grans used to bestow upon unsuspecting children. I can never rid myself of the memories...

Oh well - I'm the only lime and chocolate freak on the site then!

To be fair, everyone else is only thinking of those chocolate lime sweets which you agree are horrible. I'm probably the only other one here that remembers the Milk Tray lime cordial and as I'm never a fan of those fruit flavoured gooey chocs - give me praline anytime!

Yes - those chocolate limes are horrible. I love fruit creams and other fruit chocolate combinations! I'll swap you - your fruit chocs for my pralines!

Deal!

I think this thread is more popular than lime cracknell!
