Unfortunately I watched this before the warning was added and I'm sorry I did. It's in very poor taste IMHO.

I do apology's about this, I was wishing to ask your views about this, I take it you in the camp that believe this should never have been add to youtube?
-
My fault for watching it - the caption 'Tommy Cooper death' was a bit of a clue, if I'd taken the time to read it! And yes, I believe it should be taken off YouTube, although I gather it's been there quite a while already.
-
one week.

Oh my God. I didn't read the bit at the top and thought it was going to be a bit fruity. I wasn't expecting a man dying so graphically in full view of the camera. i have never seen it before. It should be taken off You Tube. It is not respectful to Cooper, his family and anyone else upset by it.
-
i remember watching this live back in the 80's. i remember the confusion in our house when it cut to commercial... we all thought it was part of some wacky joke. it's sad.
-
one week.
According to what I read, it's been on there since May 2009.

No what has been on Youtube is this clip, its only 35 secs long http://www.youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com) / watch?v=fHELTET6m84
and not great.

The press had a go at youtube when the first clip went online (according to wikipedia). Thanks for putting the warning on 623, wouldn't want more people seeing it without realizing what it is.
As for the discussion point. Many comedians have a lighthearted view on death so it seems unlikely that Tommy himself would have an issue with the clip. I do think YouTube should pull such clips though as they're likely cause great offense to friends and relatives though - unless they can somehow get all their permission.....(should I quote Google - 'do no harm')....
-
So, what next? Shall we start linking to footage of US soldiers/civilians getting beheaded? This thread just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, sorry.
-
Quote: "When I go I want to be on stage I want the audience laughing and everyone happy." -Tommy Cooper.
-
there is some irony there that even as he was dying he had people laughing at him, albeit unintentional. he was a seriously talented guy - i was an enormous tommy fan as a kid.
-
There is over 2 hours worth off his stuff!
No1:
TOMMY COOPER : Rings n' Juggling [1] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_KyfMU2Gr4#normal)
No3
TOMMY COOPER : Parkinson n' Balls [3] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf0iwDDdwp8#normal)

the extended clip has now been removed from youtube... oddly enough, the shorter version remains.
-
I saw the broadcast first time round. I thought it was part of the show. I was left a bit cold when I found out. What's the point of this thread btw?

What's the point of this thread btw?
That's exactly what I want to know.
-
A: did you see it first time around
B: what are you though if you did
C: Should the video be on youtube?
D:
-
No, I didn't see it the first time around, for which I am grateful. I cannot understand why anyone would want to put this on YouTube, they obviously don't get out much. Tommy Cooper was one of my heroes when I was young and I don't really want that memory tarnished. Anyway, there is enough death and destruction on the news without me having to search it out on YouTube.

Couldn't have put it better myself!
