It's been a warm day and I have spent almost all of it in the garden putting in bedding plants, helping hubby to trim the hedges and mowing the lawn. As I relax for the evening my neighbours spill into their gardens to relax with drinks a very loud music. On one side, the students at no 1 are playing retro 80s stuff and right now I have Wham (Wake me up before you go go) assaulting my ears. On the other side my east European friends are playing some sort of garage/house music that sounds like it was recorded by a bunch of robots with Tourette's Syndrome. So what do I do? Drown them both out with Dvorjak's Cello Concerto, give them a blast of Dylan's Blood on the Tracks or just go indoors, shut my windows and doors and read last month's Yours?
To top it all, I've just found out my crazy brother and sister-in-law are on their way down from Northumberland to spend tommorow night and all day Monday with us! They are both straight out of Absolutely Fabulous!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hmmm, cooling down, wet and windy here.
Still, no neighbours around.

My neighbours on one side have gone away. On the other side he has obviously discovered the drill and has been drilling and banging all day. At one point i was 99.9% certain he was going to come through my kitchen wall.
It has been very warm today and when i went shopping i had to queue for ages then came home without shampoo, washed my hair in fairy liquid and apart from my head being very very very itchy and my hair being all frizzy it's all good.
Went to work for 3 hours today. Had M&S spinach and ricotto canneloni for tea followed by a Greggs choc cornflake cake. Discovered a new drink called Jacques , it's a sort of cider but looks like a bottle of wine. Bought some high heels in an attempt to make my legs look longer and followed Gok Wans advice and bought an overly patterned top from Monsoon to distract attention from my big hips.
Watched BGT and read a weeks supply of Sunderland echo that my friend keeps for me and presents me with 6 copies each Thursday , mainly so i can keep up with who died and who went bankrupt and who didn't pay their tv licence.
Going to bed now. Hope you all have a great bank hol weekend.

we've been forecast thunderstorms for monday, so i don't think it'll be too nice down these parts.

Well......I was so busy ironing yesterday pm in the shady side of the house that I didn't even notice the sunny weather until I went to get the washing in and thought I'd arrived in Spain it was so hot. Considered spending some time sitting in the garden admiring the dandelions and foot-high grass, when the neighbours (next door but one) started their barbecue. The way the fumes were coming over I think they might as well have fried the food in lighter fuel. Then about twenty pre-adolescent girls ran out into next-door's garden screaming and giggling and playing dodgy music at ear-splitting level (although I have to confess to quite liking Lily Allen's Not Fair or whatever it's called). At that point I gave up and went to the beach for a walk. Very pleasant.

Glad to hear everyone else is enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend as much as me! It's 9.52am and I've got Walking on the Moon one side of me and some sort of Lithuanian tribal chant the other. In the minute I'm going to listen to The Archers and so is everyone else in Beechwood Close if I have anything to do with it!!

He's still drilling today and earlier i saw him in the back yard sawing some wood. Perhaps he is putting some shelving up.

So you're saying he's got wood, now?

Do you mean you do not mark Whitsun in Scotland? I thought you were a country that followed the Christian holidays?

NOPE! scotland has 32 local council and those council decide when each local area has its 9 holidays!
on top of that! most place do not have Good Friday Or Easter Monday off! actully lot of school kids go back to school on Easter Monday.
Next holiday for us is next Monday 1st monday in June, then its 3rd monday in July. No one in scotland get the last Monday in august. we have 1st and 2nd of January off/
7 years ago the bbc did a all music festival for the UK on the last may Holiday, and the bbc even admitted, that most people in scotland were unable to wacth it as it was not a holiday!

Well, at least you get 9 public holidays a year. We only get 8!
