well, just a few weeks ago i found out my girlfriend was pregnant. quite unexpected and totally shocking, and it's the first one of my own. SO - i was wondering about baby names. i'm after something totally original and unique, but not stupid. (and we don't know if it's a boy or girl yet.)
anyone got any suggestions?
-
My fave girl names at the moment are Freya, Mia , Chloe and Daisy. For boys I like Tom and........................erm today i am in a just like Tom mood. I've got an idea, take a part of your name and a part of your girlfriends name and put them together.
-
thanx - i'll add them to 'the list'.
-
Well congratulations wjp! I wouldn't tell anyone what names you are thinking of prior to the event - there will always be somebody who says something to put you off! Combining two names can have interesting results.....
-
why thankyou! it was a 'nice' surprise for me and mrs. wjp.
combining two names? hmm. interesting. Trevorclive it is!
-
For boys I like Seth, Anthony, Isaac and Duncan.
For girls I like Faye, Elizabeth and Erin.
My kids are called Douglas (after my dad) and Ruth. I thought they were names that would grow up with them and not sound silly when they're older.
-
Ruth is a very good name for a baby as it will grow well with her. Add Ruth to my list wjp.
-
By the way WJP, congratulations to you and your girlfriend.
-
Sorry wjp I meant to congratulate you but i got too excited wanting to name your baby Loulou. There's an idea let's just agree on Lou...a name that will suit a boy or a girl.
-
thanks for the congrats, it's much appreciated. and there's some great names amongst all these. (you never know - it might end up being one of them!)
-
Well its nice to know that your a full metal jacket and not firing starting blanks...
Here is a starting point for you : http://www.thinkbabynames.com/ (http://www.thinkbabynames.com/)
Lots of others, you just got to look and it is nice to know what your calling nipper.
-
cool - thanx for the link. very handy.
-
Well done, I know you had it in you! :P
not sure about names, but don;t go for all these modern ones
-
yeah - i was sorta thinking about resurrecting an old-old name. thought that might be quite cool. not sure what though.
-
Martha?
-
Cedric? Percival? Doris? Gladys?
Only joking!
-
Adam? Eve? Oldspice was on the mark with Seth....
-
Micheal, john, mark,, that kind of old. Soon the nursing homes will be fill of Kyles and um
-
Hint: http://www.google.co.uk/ (http://www.google.co.uk/)
You will find about a million baby name sites, some offer you graphical information to show hoe popular some names are and whats in decline and so on... Its a question of searching for them.
I found the internet the best resource for names, friends lent me baby name books but they were not much use and TBH a bit of a waste buying any when you consider that you have already paid for internet access and you should use it, its a great resource.
-
i've been on babynames.com all week. i'm finding them pretty helpful. i've got a fine looking shortlist now, thanks to posters here, that website, friends and family and my own genius. but we've still got a few months to wait so i'm not panicking just yet.
i do own a baby name book, but it was written in the 60's and is relatively unhelpful.
-
Wee JP?
-
JP junior?
-
I'm so impatient i just want the baby to be here with a name.
-
i'll let you know the moment it pops out.
-
just been reading about jamie oliver's new arrival... they called her Petal Blossom Rainbow. this goes nicely with his other two: Poppy Honey and Daisy Boo.
those POOR kids. this is what i want to avoid.
-
Apart from Daisy the other names are horrid.
-
but Daisy 'Boo'? WTF?!
-
Here's a couple to avoid...
Chav Minger
Rudeboy Gangsta
-
I personally would also avoid Tyson, Tyler, Tyrelle, Tyrese and any other combinations or similar renditions.
I saw a good one today in the births announcements in the paper. A baby boy called O'Rafferty. Oh dear!
-
There's a good mix of babies names in the birth announcements of my evening paper:
Hannah, Annalise, Ethan , Joshua, Jasmine, Amelia, Isobel Grace, Mason, Libby, Elle and unsure how to pronounce this one... Kaidyn.
-
some good ones there. i'm making a note of all these... and i'll be announcing the winner somewhen around octiober the 2nd!
-
I'm liking Maisie and Jasmine today.
-
http://www.quickbabynames.com (http://www.quickbabynames.com)
Another site I used.
-
netbuddy do your children have interesting names?
-
tell me you didn't name them bill and clive? (as in gates and sinclair.)
-
I have a son, only the one, mainly because herself said one is enough and she is not very... what you would call maternal. She is more intrested in going out hitting the clubs.
As for nipper... I named him
Scott David
I wouldn't say its intresting, more practical.
wjp, if you get the offer of knowing the sex of the baby from scan, you may want to take the option. Some hospitals have a policy on not sexing the child, mainly because of the Asian cultures that favor male offspring.
This will help you in shortening the names list and halving the task of collecting names to pick from.
-
the hospital we are going to encourages parents to know the sex on the 20 week scan. i desperately want to know (for practical reasons, as well as emotional.) but mrs. triple-6 says she wants it to be a surprise (this is her third, and it's the way she's always done it.) so i'll be out shopping for blue/pink stuff all by myself before it's born. it's going to be weird knowing but not able to tell her. i'm sure i'll put my foot in it somewhere down the line!
-
Well yeah, that is true. It helps to know so you can buy the stuff you need rather than running around like a headless...
I would let the hormones do the talking, mine was like that, didn't want to know but when it came to it, she wanted to know what we were expecting.
It does make life easier to know, loads easier on the pocket too.
It does not matter what weight they come out at either as that is not any indication of growth rate, I can testify to that with my own son. he popped out at 7lb 3oz. He is 2 years 4 months old. He is just above the 98th centile when 50th is the norm. He has the build to go with his tall frame. In simple terms, people mistake him for a 4 ~ 5 year old, he takes clothing that a 4 year old would wear and even now, clothes tend to only last a few months.
So holding off in spending too much on clothing is a good bit of advice.
-
wjp i'm not too sure the plan for you to know the babies sex will work. You can too easily let it slip in conversation and god help you if you get into an argument and let it slip that way. Mrs triple 6 will never forgive you. Why not save your money then go out the day the baby is born and buy stuff. It doesn't have to be blue for boy and pink for girl. You could buy some cream or white suff to start with and people will bring presents.yay.
-
true, true. i don;t think i could hold onto a secret like that for months on end. maybe i'll just let it be a surprise. hmm. i don't know. i'm just impatient, that's all. creams and yellows are nice.
and as for netbuddy's musings about weight and growth etc... i was born at 10lbs 10oz. i was a massive kid, and i'm an even massive-r adult. so we are expecting something BIG!
-
Wow! My two were miniscule by comparison. Doug was 5lb 9oz and Ruth was 5lb 3oz! I am small (5ft 1 inch) but my husband is 6ft 4 ins.
Both my two have grown up tallish and lean.
-
mrs. triple-6 is really worried about it all. she's had two boys before, who were both over a month premature and still weighed in at over 8lbs each... and what with the big kids on my side of the family - she really is worried about giving birth to a whopping toddler! we shall see. (i think pain relief is a must here.)
-
wjp are you going to be present at the birth? My older brother said watching his son being born was the best experience of his life. My other brother passed out on the floor and had to be given gas and air when his son was born but he is the sort that faints giving blood or cutting a finger.
-
Yes, it is amazing how something the size of a baby is squeezed out of something the size of an extra strong mint... Still, old mum nature has thought of that and these things dilate.
Pain relief... I would be wary, herself didn't have any pain relief other than gas & air when things got a bit hairy. Its the hidden dangers with the other methods of pain relief that are a concern. Entonox presents no risk factors.
Entonox is nothing more than Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen, yep, thats right, the very stuff boy racers use in Nitro systems. Nitrous is AKA Laughing gas, so your misses should do 0 ~ delivery in a few belly laughs.
-
...My older brother said watching his son being born was the best experience of his life...
Yep, certainly is. I even got to cut the placenta.
-
i will be in the room when it happens. i have a fairly strong stomach, but i'm not sure i'll be watching the process too intently (i'll be there for moral support, more than actually wanting to see it.) i'm CONVINCED it's going to be a big baby, so there may be some cutting/ripping to endure. that may be a little too much reality for me!
-
What you need to do is sit BESIDE your partner rather than at the other end. That way, you can be a comfort to her and miss all the gore and the surgical bits. To be honest, you'll be so besotted with the arrival of your little man (or girl) that you'll hardly notice anything else.
-
Going back to baby sizes, I always thought it was the length of the baby that was significant for their future height, not their weight. It's certainly been true with my two. The second was quite a bit longer and he's the tallest.
-
Yep, don't quote me but thing it something like by the time they're 7 they're going to be double that height as a teenager.
-
Unless you've gave birth to a dwarf.
-
I've got some nice names for you from my step-mother-in-law:
Ethel, Reginald, Bruce and ..............JADE!! ;D
-
bruce is already on my shorlist - after bruce campbell. (i sense everyone suddenly googling it because nobody knows who the hell he is.)
-

Yeh you don't want to be a the business end.
Hot Dog up an alleyway will spring to mind.
-
i'll probably be having my hand crushed while she screams all sorts of abuse at me. (hey - it's ALWAYS like that in the movies!)
-
i'll probably be having my hand crushed while she screams all sorts of abuse at me. (hey - it's ALWAYS like that in the movies!)
Well heres what you do... When she screams at you about how "you" did this to her, simply say, "Ummm no, if you remember rightly... I wanted to stick it up you ass..."
That should not only get you a few laughs but a heafty slap from herself.
-
:o
-
I don't think the midwife will laugh.
-
Hey - I thought of a relly pretty name for a girl today. How about Kim?
-
kim's good. (and other one for the list.)
seriously - thanks for all the feedback here to everyone. it is helping us a great deal.
-
My niece is called Kim. Kimberley really but she feels Kim is more of an adult name.
-
thinking about it - kimberley is the name of our local hooker. hmm.
-
A few of my choices and suggestions from the dragon-in-law, looked at some really old emails that herself sent me with her suggestions and her mothers, a couple are mine, not saying which, just have a guess.
Jennifer
Claire
Susan
Samantha
Sian
Mary
Marie
Carl
Jason
Philip
Calvin
Jake
Andrew
Arnold
-
i'm guessing sian and calvin are yours?
-
Were part correct, Carl was one of the choices at first before I decided on what "Type" of name I was wanting to look for.
Here is another site: http://www.babynames.co.uk/ (http://www.babynames.co.uk/)
-
Was that meant to be a list of really boring dull names?
-
Some of the dragon-in-laws suggestions. If I hadn't put my foot down, Scott would something like George William and not have my surname.
TBH, she was very pushy and boy did it 'P' her off when herself told her mum that scott had my family name, even I heard her over the phone and I was stood a good 15ft away.
-
Arnold? That's an old man's name. I don't hink it suits a boy or young man at all. When I think of an Arnold, I think of a small, balding, hen-pecked type.
-
I know a man called Arnold but can never remember his name when i see him and always refer to him as Harold for some unknown reason.
-
If I have a boy one day, he'll be called Byron. If it's a girl, I was thinking Freya, but my wife appears to have gone off that name.
-
I like the name Vivienne today.
-
thinking about it - kimberley is the name of our local hooker. hmm.
And how would you know that, eh?
-
thinking about it - kimberley is the name of our local hooker. hmm.
And how would you know that, eh?
I was wondering too.
-
err... umm... :-[
-
She's prolly been in the local rag for being caught with fare paying passengers and no licence to operate a public service vehicle... Am I right?
-
Wjp, I have boys called xxxx and xxxx and neither seem to mind their names.
-
Those are lovely names Paulham.
-
:) is certainly different.
-
I've never heard the name before but i like it.. Where did you get that from pham? Is it a popular name where you live?
-
NO. We liked the name, looked it up and found a derivation meaning "forever" or "ruler" in old Norse.
-
just a thought...
Mrs. Triple-6's cravings thus far have been chinese sweet and sour chicken balls, lemon drizzle cake and salad cream on toast.
anyone got any idea if this indicates a boy or a girl?
-
Unfortunately food cravings are not an indicator and the same applies to the other crack-pot and old wives tales... Your going to have to wait for the scan.
-
gah! i can't wait that long! somebody feed me some hocus pocus old wives tale, please.
just to kill some time, we done the pendant prediction thing. (where you swing a pendant over the stomach and judging by how it moves determines the sex of the baby.) if it goes left to right, it's a girl. if it goes in circles, it's a boy. we did it and it started going left to right, then round in circles... so it looks like we're having a hermaphrodite!
-
Maybe its too early to tell! as in development, the babys sex is one of the last things on the check list.
Your killing time... You wait until the nesting instinct kicks in to full gear, you aint going to have time to be bored.
-

It's supposed to be a wedding ring on a piece of string .
-
ah. well... we're living in sin, so that rules out the wedding ring.
-
You need to be patient and wait for the baby to come. The time will fly by quick enough.
Here's a thought...what if there's twins or triplets.
-
ah - the 12 week scan proved it was only one. so there's a big sigh of relief!
-
My evening newspaper shows baby girls born this weekend were named Faith and Caitlin. I'll just keep you informed wjp.
-
okely-dokely.
-
just went for the 16 week check-up with the midwife and heard the heartbeat. apparently, the baby has an unusually strong heartbeat for his/her age, so that's a bonus!
-
Glad everything is going well. hey, how do you like the name Raol for a boy?
-
That's just a play on rolo surely.
-
Raol is certainly different.
-
sod it - i might just call it Cabana and have done with it. (doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl then.)
-
I prefer Rolo.
-
I think Cabana would be the ultimate name for a girl.
-
OOOOOO - it's the 20 week scan in a couple of days. we finally (hopefully) find out if it's a boy or a girl. at least then we can cut the list of names we've collected in half.
-
It's twins. One of each.
-
Holly Willoughby has had a baby boy and called him Harry. I like that name.
-
Pete Andre and Katie Price have a daughter with a horrendously silly name. It's something like Princess Tallulah or Princess Tahiti or something equally nauseating.
-
Princess Tiaamii - EUCK! Tallulah and Tahiti are actually far better than that!
-
Toblerone is a better name.
-
well, in just a couple of hours we find out the sex. i'm actually pretty excited about it, which is odd for me.
-
wjp i thought you weren't going to do the find out the sex thing. Can't wait for you to share the news so we can concentrate on male or female names.
-
well, we decided to find out after all. (makes sense i guess... knowing to buy pink or blue stuff etc.) and, well...
IT'S A GIIIIIIRL!!!!!!
-
Congratulations.
-
Congratulations wjp. I bet you are even more excited now. When is the baby due?
-
Great news wjp. Just think, you can now cross Boris, Percy and Mungo off your baby names list!
-
Or just feminise them - Borisa, Perciana and Mungette?
-
I've met a few Mungettes in my time, I can tell you.
-
Just call the baby Daisy and be done with it.
-
thanks for the warm wishes - and yes, we are both REALLY excited now. i think, deep down (even though neither of us dared to say it) it was what we were both hoping for.
Daisy, ay? hmm...
-
I feel a massive tantrum coming if I don't get to pick babies name.
-

some good ones there. but i can say without a doubt my daughter will NOT be given a 'fad' celebrity name lie Sienna or Miley...
-
I should hope not.
-
I like Grace, Elizabeth and Ava.
Where on earth did Avery come from? A company called Avery used to make weighing scales.
-
When is the baby due?
oh, forgot to say - it's arriving somewhen around october 2nd. well, that's the date they've given us, but we think it might be a week later.
-
I'm really excited for the baby to come . Avery is too much like a bird aviary.
-
For my tuppence worth, I like Helena. Pronounced Helayna.
Alas it wouldn't work with my surname. :'(
-
I wouldn't go for Lorelei. It will never shut up.
-
Oh! You're good!
-
i applaud you...
-
I thank you, but it is a strange choice isn't it? How about Banshee?
-
How about Fanny or Mildred or Gertie?
-
I don't think you can beat fanny.
-
Or Dick....
-
You can't call a girl Dick.
-
(http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa283/delboyonline/SidJames.gif)
Ha-ha, ha.
-
i'm not calling her sid, before anyone mentions it.
-
wjp have you got a shortlist of names yet?
-
yes, i do. well, i say short - it's around 30 or so names. i'll get mrs. triple-6 to find it for me and i'll post them here and see what anyone thinks. (don't know what she's done with it and she'sm out at the moment, so it'll have to wait.)
-
well, here it is - one of the short-lists. we've added some names we've found suggested on this very forum... so here are the ones that haven't been mentioned yet:
Ashleigh
Melina
Megan
Brianna
Bridie
Beth
Utopia (hehe)
Dannii
Molly
Devon
Morgan
Madison
Saffron
Roxxii (hehehehe)
Tatiana (my gf has a thing for russian names)
Destiny
Eve
Beatrix (we're big 'Kill Bill' fans)
Tawny
Chasey
Robin
Virginia
Arwen
Amber
April
Aubrey
remember - some of these are for middle names too. (certain names that work fine for middle names don't work at all for first names, so bear that in mind.)
-
I have a cousin called Bridie, she is in her 40's so although an older name not one that we hear a lot of. I like Tatiana a lot. There's nothing on the list I don't like but isn't Aubrey a mans name?
-
according to babynames.com it can be both.
-
I don't like them names. Lesley is another one.
-
oh, i forgot Marisa. we're leaning heavily towards that at the moment.
-
Noooooooo, it's my boss's name!
-
How about Samia?
-
yeah, that could work.
-
That is the name of that pretty girl who plays Maria in Corrie.
-
aaaaaaaaaaaah...
-
only 14 weeks to go now! YIKES!
-
Yay. Do you have a shortlist of names yet?
-
no shorter than the one i posted on this thread the other week. we just can't make up our minds. so much pressure with the clock ticking!
-
A friend of mine just had a baby boy - she's called him...Edson. I'm a little concerned that her husband isn't called Ed.
-
I know a Glennis Dennis
-
I know a woman who just gave birth to a pakistani little boy and i'm concerned her husband is not pakistani.
-
the local chief of police in weymouth is (GENUINELY!!!!!!!) called Rick O'Shea.
and our local vet is called Hugh Cumber.
sadly, i haven't just made these up.
-
well, i think we've finally decided on the name! but unfortunately, mrs. triple-6 has sworn me to secrecy from telling ANYONE until the baby is born. how annoying!
i will give you a clue though: her first name comes from a movie title (though spelt slightly differently), and her middle name is after one of my favourite wrestlers. so that narrows it down a bit!
-
Brigitte hogan?
-
Thelma the rock?
-
Give another clue...what's the film about?
-
you know what, i've never actually seen the film... but it's by one of my all time fave directors. it's just about the only one of his i've never seen.
as for the wrestler - it's nobody massively famous if you're not a wrestling fan, really, i think. though he has worked for all the major promotions in the last 20 years (yes, it's a guys name... but it works for a girl too), has had a lot of success and is still active in the industry today.
i'll have to think of some better clues than this. if i make it too obvious my life wont be worth living!
-
Giant Haystacks???
-
hehehehe - that's what her mum looks like at the moment!
-
ok who is your fave director?
-
ah, but if i tell you that - it would be too easy! my fave directors are the likes of sam raimi, wes craven, the coen brother and george romero... and this other guy, who fits in nicely with this mob. he was the original, so to speak.
i hate being cryptic. hehe.
-
just over 7 weeks to go now. somebody start humming the countdown theme for me!
-
Is the name for the baby still the same? Surely another clue would be ok this close to babas arrival.
-
yes, name still the same.
CLUE: both of them have 2 syllables each!
-
I bet one's Eastwood.
-
Someone in the Daily Telegraph announced the birth of their son - Harlequin!
-
Wasn't that a cheapo Quality Street clone in the 80s?
-
M. R.
right - i've given far too much away now!
-
Ah is the M for Michelle?
-
nope!
-
Is the R for randy cos there is a wrestler called randy savage.
Is the M for molly.
-
please give further clues or give mrs 666 a vindaloo and make the baby come out now.
-
not randy, but getting closer.
hmm, more clues...
M - sean connery / R - related to a london tower.
oooh - now that's too easy!
-
M - sean connery (man)
R - related to a London tower (round)
Man Round? You would call your child that?
-
hehehehe. and why on earth not?
-
Is the M for Marnie?
-
:o
(ssshhhh - don't let my other half hear...)
-
We have a winner!
-
now try and get the 'R'.
-
I think it's Raven - as in the ravens in the Tower of London. Am I right?
-
oh bugger - i'm in SOOOOOOOOO much bloody trouble now!
-
We have another winner! :D
-
How lovely!
-
just hope it actually IS a girl after all this! (there's still that 2% chance it's a boy.)
-
exactly 4 weeks to go! eek!
-
So my googling of film directors and film titles of girls names worked then.
What a beautiful name for your little girl wjp.
-
yes... IMDB does come in handy at time like this, lol.
yeah, we like the name. bit different without being ridiculous.
now try and guess what the 'wjp' stands for... hehe.
-
I've always wondered about that...
-

William John Paul?
-
William James Phillip?
-
not william, no.
james is correct though! well done!
the 'p' is my surname, so guessing it would be nigh on impossible.
REGARDING THE BABY NAME: we've had a lot of positive feedback from 'marnie', with almost everyone saying they love it. however, nobody seems to like the 'raven' part (except me). so tell me - have a made a grave misjudgement here? is it really not that nice of a name? give it to me straight... i can take it!
-
I like both names. Raven is beutiful - especially if she has dark, glossy hair. It is much better than that God-awful name chosen for Jordon's daughter - Princess something or other.
-
I think Marnie is great and although I agree that Raven is a beautiful name, you will probably have to put up with the 'raving mad' type comments. I used to live in Ravine Road and as most people didn't seem to know how to pronounce it, I had the same sort of remarks. If you don't mind that - go for it!
-
Raven rocks, but then you knew I'd say that!
-
I think Marnie raven is the perfect name.
Is the p in your name for Philip?
-
thanks for the positive feedback, people. tis much appreciated. i think we'll definitely stick with those names.
as for the 'p' in my initials... nah, not philip. it's strictly a surname... so rule out anything that could pass for a first name - and it's quite hard to guess. the 'w' should be easier.
-
Warren or Wesley?
-
Wayne?
-
Walter?
-
Winston?
-
lou was right - the second one.
now try and get my bank details!
-
I'm firing up the computer now... ;)
-

It's unusual, but there's not wrong with that. As it will be her middle name it's not going to be a huge issue anyway; if she doesn't like it when she grows up she can just drop it. You don't need to do it by deed poll if it's a middle name - you just stop using it.
-
well said, that man - raven it shall indeed be!
-
I would have made her first name Raven, and then maybe Moonlight in the middle.
-
How about Marnie Raven Daisy. I'm determined to get Daisy in there somehow.
-
I think Marnie is great and although I agree that Raven is a beautiful name, you will probably have to put up with the 'raving mad' type comments.
I actually have a colleague by the name of Shane Looney. Hopefully he won't call his daughter Raven!
-
;D ;D ;D

Yay, that was my 10,000th post!!! Glad I don't waste time on the internet...
-
10,000 divided by the years you've been here isn't really a waste of time. What did you do to celebrate?
-
Eat chocolate? Just an idea... ;)

Thanks for karma guys. By coincidence my friends arrived from Australia with chocolate gifts, including KitKat Chunky Cookies & cream - will report back later - and mint Tim Tams which I hadn't seen here but recommend.

It will be the most wonderful experience of your life. Enjoy it - and good luck!
-
Just don't punch out the midwife!
-
i'll probably be the unconscious one in the delivery room!
-
My brother fainted watching his son being born and the dr gave him gas and air.lol
-
i'm looking forward to stealing the gas and air. mmm...
-
I think baby will come today :)
-
i woke up thinkling the same thing! i'll keep you posted...
-
well, the baby didn't come on that day. so we were both wrong!
i'm just hoping it doesn't come on sunday night... i'll miss the live wrestling on sky box office!
-
I think you should give mrs 666 a vindaloo tonight and that may get things moving.
-
there's an idea...
-
Apparently, if you make love it can start labour off.
-
i've heard this, but i get worried that, err... (how can i put this nicely?)... i'll be bashing the baby in the head repeatedly. (and i don't want that kind of imagery in my brain.)
-
Well, I'm giving away a big secret here- but 21 years ago, on our wedding anniversary, I was a week away from giving birth and we had some gnetle love-making to celebrate and a few hours later I went into labour! My daughter was born that same day, on our wedding anniversary and she's just turned 21, is highly intelligent and works as a paramedic so - no harm to her little head!
-
That's nice of you sharing that secret with us oldspice. Go on wjp be gentle and get on with it.
-
okay, i'll be back in thirty seconds...
-
Ho, ho, ho!
-
How about a glass of guinness? Or is that very wrong?
-
it's certainly dabbling in the wrong side of the right zone, methinks.
-
well, here i am - enjoing my last day of freedom... i'm gonna make the most of my final night of undisturbed sleep.
-
It's very exciting.
-
OMG - it's due TODAY! help me!
-
About what time? ;)
-
Is she here yet?
-
still no sign of the little bugger. sigh! all this anticipation is killing me!
-
Shall i send a curry over?
-
I vote for the sex!
-
i vote for curry! (i haven't got the energy for sex... plus, there's stuff on tv tonight.)
-
Here's something to karma you down!
-
Good one oldspice.
Is baby here yet?
-
STILL no bloody baby! what's going on?
-
STILL not here. SIIIIIIIIIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(starting to wonder if mrs. triple-6 has been stuffing a cushion up her jumper for 9 months...)
-
I think by tomorrow night you should be seriously thinking about curry or sex wjp.
-
Or both!
-
That's kinky!
-
DAILY BABY UPDATE: it's still not here.
-
Maybe she is going to be a 6am Monday morning baby like i was :)
-
First babies are often late. My cousin went nearly two weeks over.
-
it's my first baby - but mrs. triple-6 has done this twice before (albeit a long time ago.) her others were born very earlym which only confuses matters more. i've heard that the thrid baby is always awkward. we shall see.
as i type this she's having a stretch and sweep (!)... that may do it!
-
hmph. maybe not.
-
just had a false alarm - god, that was exciting!
-
Was that a "quick ...the babies coming, oh no it's just wind" moment?
-
I still vote for the sex thing!
-
I think it makes wjp feel squeamish. How about a quick jump about on a trampoline ?
-
i'd choose the trampoline treatment, i think.
-
Boing! Pop!!!
-
I think we should change the babies name and make her name from an anagram of "this baby is late"
Betty lisa shaba... hows that?
-
Fantastic!
-
HAHAHAHA! excellent! :-)
-
Also:
Baby Latish Site
Has a ring, don't you think?
-
;D
-
well, mrs. triple-6 is being induced on sunday, if all else fails. no, it's not ideal - but at least it'll all be over at last. yay!
-
Good luck for you both on Sunday then - I'll be in Weymouth for Halloween so I'll send you some good spells.
-
some good spells would go down a treat right now!
-
The universe usually decides when it's time for baby to appear. The time has to be right, stars and planets in the right place, you know what I mean... Be sure to get a chart done.
-
how very mystical of you.
-
That's me!
-
The most popular name in the universe for boy is Xalgon. For a girl it's Emma
-
Who the hell is that in your avatar picture? Very Bounty Hunter!
-
oh my god... it finally happened. new thread to celebrate, methinks!
-
Drinks all round!!!
