Despite my distaste of celeb culture, I am terribly sad for Jade and her family and I am glad she is now at peace.
It's been a sad week, what with the tragic death of the superb actress Natasha Richardson.
It just goes to show how you should make the most of every moment you have.
-
RIP Jade. Mothers' Day will be extra poignant for the boys now.
-
i was never the boggest jade fan in the world - but back when i used to love Big Brother, she definitely was one of the most colourful housemates they ever had. i always felt she was given such awful bad publicity too - she never deserved that, and i always felt sorry for her because of it. it's such a tragedy that someone so young and full of life could be taken like this.
it's true though - it really is a reminder of just how mortal we all are and how we should cherish every moment we have.
-
Anyone who berates her because of what they saw on BB should remember, you created her.
-
She was a good entertainer and seemed to be a very good mother . No one should die so young.
-
.....
-
what does that say?
-
It says I have nothing to say...
-
"Princess Diana, from the wrong side of the tracks"
Sheesh!
-
.....
Ditto.
-
Well, I was no great fan of Princess Diana either. She never did me any harm and she was loved by millions it's true, but there are SO many people out there who do shed loads for charity IN ADDITION to their own jobs and looking after their family and they don't have a £2,000 quid hair do every other day and rooms full of expensive outfits.
Is Jade another Princess Diana? No. Why should she want to be? As ignorant as she apperared to be ("What's asparagus?" "Rio De Janeiro? Ain't that a person??") took the bull by the horns, gritted her teeth and stared death in the face with a fantastic amount of courage. God bless her.
-
took the bull by the horns
Yes, well, maybe that was where it all went wrong.
-
Well having lost both parents, two grandparents and an uncle a school friend (at 14) to the big 'C'...
Thats why I "ditto" on DR T's post.
I am afraid I sound callous saying this but "Thats Life."
-
Are they really televising her funeral?
-
Will people line the streets and throw roses at the car as it passes?
-
While I think it's very sad a young woman with children has lost her life to this terrible disease, I object to the canonisation of her because of it. The same people who berated her for what she said to Shilpa Shetty are now acting like there's been an apocalyse because she's dead. And when it comes down to it, what did she actually do? She got famous by staying indoors for a few weeks and talking rubbish. My Nan did that for years - I'm still waiting for her black-edged copy of OK! magazine.
-

They certainly did. I felt sick at the people with their cameras taking photos. That is so distasteful and what are they really hoping to do with the photos.
-
Yes, it was all rather over the top wasn't it? Still, it's what she would have loved so where's the harm? It really did have echoes of Diana's funeral.
-
Time for Jack to go to prison now.

Time for Jack to go to prison now.
What! They let him out again?
What has he got? A day pass or something?
-
He hasn't been sentenced for assaulting the taxi driver yet.

Remember, Jade died for your sins! Don't let her death be in vain, buy a badge (or a lollipop) and show your support!
Crap, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold it all back for long!
-
My family (sister, auntie, cousins etc) live quite close to the church where the funeral was held and they said that some roads were closed and there was absolute chaos for miles around the area all day. Some people had their weddings disrupted and delayed because they and their guests couldn't get to other churches along the route (and we are talking about a very long route - from Bermondsay, South London, round to the east side of London, out to Upshire, back down to Loughton and Buckhurst Hill and back out towards Epping for the burial). That seems very unfair to me.
-
JFHC even when she's dead shes playing the media.
TBH I got sick of hearing about it when she was still sucking air.
I aint about to post my full thoughts on this because it may upset a few people.
I feel more sorry for the brides who were disrupted on their "BIG DAY", that is something that you can not compensate for.

I see someone has made a limited edition of memorial candles with jades pic on selling at £4.99. News of the World magazine will probably have a Jade plate in their next issue. Everyone cashes in. I want to see no more about her and i want Jack to go to prison.

Oh my God, a Jade plate!! Fancy having that grinning at you from the wall or the dresser. And candles? memorial candles? With her face on? That's what I call tasteless!
-
This whole thing is just media-driven, as I may have said before! When I saw the News Of The World on Sunday, I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. A memorial issue? Likening the whole thing to Princess Diana's funeral! WTF!!! She was just a nobody who became a somebody because she was as thick as two planks on Big Brother and after, and people thought she was great. I bet they sold LOADS of papers!
Get your Jade glove puppet, only a £1!
-
I wonder if the shops have took Jade perfume off the shelves.

Well done parky : http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/138886/ (http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/138886/) : the article
Sir Michael Parkinson has launched a tirade against Jade Goody.
The veteran broadcaster told the latest issue of Radio Times that the late reality TV star represented "all that is paltry and wretched about Britain."
He said: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of. Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di.
"When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today.
"She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile. Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and became a media chattel to be exploited til the day she died."
His comments come just days after Jade Goody was laid to rest following a funeral that drew comparisons with that of Princess Diana. Thousands of mourners lined the streets and threw flowers as the hearse made its way to the service in Buckhurst on Saturday.
Respect to the man for saying what allot of people were likely to be scared of saying.
-
It's harsh but true. However, it's kind of sad too. She couldn't help her upbringing or even, to some extent, her ignorance. It's insulting to say she was brought up on a sink estate. There are many things that make an estate no fun place to live and one of them is people passing judgement on it. It's not right that kids have to grow up with that stigma.
-
I agree with oldspice.
-
but will the government do anything to solve this I dare say not. spending lots of money will not solve the problems, not building CHEAP arse housing either.
I would not put people with drug taken into the estates I would actully put them all togerther one big estate so there can be left alone BUT ALSO helped to get clean.
with parky, His timing is bad but he in his late 70;s so I dare say he could not care one bit!
-
I would put all druggies on an island so they could kill each other. That's a seperate island from the one with the rapists and murderers on.
-
If I had the chance, I'd put all junkies and vagrants on a paradise island where they had food in abundance and let them make their own choice as to what to do next. Death is a bit harsh for people who are too weak to stand up to today's society.
In Bristol, they're slowly pushing the 'undesirables' out into the edges and trying to tempt the 'yuppies' into the centre. Bristol City Council doesn't give a toss about people, only the money they can make from heightening the standard of class. Ba$tard$!

Yes, it's called Britain.
