Scientists suggest we may add extra salt to our food because it boosts our mood, even though we know too much is bad for us.
University of Iowa researchers writing in Psychology and Behavior say salt may act as a natural antidepressant.
Tests on rats found those with a salt deficiency shied away from activities they normally enjoyed - a sign of depression
I am a lot happier if my chips have salt on than if they don't.
-
i've never noticed the effect salt has on me, tbh. i'll just go take a few table-spoons worth and i'll let you know...
-
I tend not to eat much salt.
-
I had a cut on my arm but when I applied some salt it just seemed to make it feel worse.
-
I had a mouth ulcer and the dentist said to rinse my mouth twice a day with warm salty water. It didn't sting and didn't lift my mood neither.
-
I find salty foods give me a terrible thirst so I now avoid them.
-
I love salty food, but try to avoid eating too much of it because of the health isues surrounding it, not sure it raises my mood,i just like the taste :-)

-
Salt kills slugs.
-
What did slugs ever do? Go slugs!
-
Go slug yourself.
-
What about Sea Slugs, how do they cope with salt?
-
Sea slugs are coated with a special film called nudibranch, which protects them from salt water.
-
A nudibranch is a type of sea slug - I've seen loads of them.
-
Well the slugs that appear on my path die when they hit the trail of salt i lay for them.
