Title: New Easter Egg Packaging
Post by: wjp666 on March 04, 2009, 05:07:10 am
well, i'm sure everyone's seen the new and improved easter egg packaging that's on a lot of the major brands this year. for those of you who haven't, they've basically redesigned the box so it's a hellava lot smaller but has the same size egg and all that, but is more environmentally friendly, as there's not so much waste etc.

but if i was a kid receiving one of these, i'd wouldn't see it like that. i'd just think my parents were being a bit tight-fisted this year. which made me think... has the design changed to genuinely be more 'green', or is it just a sneaky way to get you to buy more, as the product now looks very small and igsignificant (ie. you have to buy another one to compensate.) hmm, i wonder.

Mmmmm... Dunno, on the flip-side, it makes the egg look bigger. But nice to see that the manufacturers are now putting more effort to reduce land fill.

I won't be happy until the sweets are in the egg again and not alongside it.

I won't be happy until they're either filled like a cream egg or solid!

But Cream Eggs are like eating sugar!  I'm sure that fondant stuff has got worse over the years.

You could do an "American Pie" style trick if you got sick of eating it.
I think fondant has a bit of "give" in it.

They taste more gritty than smooth to me.

I like how they have replaced the plastic inside the box with cardboard.
