Does anyone remember a product from the seventies which I think were called Cadbury's Stroodles or Strudles? They were little chunks of apple flavour candy , covered in chocolate ,and came in bags. The TV ad at the time had a voiceover by Kenny Everrett and contained this line which I've always remembered-
"There are oodles and oodles of Cadbury's stroodles"
If anyone does remember, can they put a rough year to their appearance
To put it rough, they're not coming back.
To put it rough, they're not coming back.
Neither is dirty den
That's what they said last time.
Last time he died he only got shot by a daffodil but this time Pauline's heavy doggie door-stopper did the job properly.
Did you notice though when Zoe dropped it in a panic it never made a noise, almost like it was made of polystyrene.
Which of course it probably was. I have a friend who makes it her mission in life to spot mistakes in TV programmes, especially soaps. She phones me and says, "Did you notice so-and-so left the house with earrings on and appeared in the pub without them" or something like that. I am very unobservant and would make a useless witness!
I didn't spot Zoe throwing the doorstop like a lump of polystyrene, but I did notice Andy Hunter appeared to be as light as a feather! It takes more effort to blow your nose than it took Johnny to chuck him over that bridge!
P.S. I once spotted Gail Platt dash off to confront mad Carmen in a fit of pique - but she was calm enough to put her hair up on the way!
In Corrie someone once said to Fred in The Rovers "Sorry to leave you with a skeleton staff on the day of the funeral".
They were totally serious.
If memory serves correctly, Stroodles weren't 'candy' but were dried apple pieces covered with chocolate, and they tasted better than they sounded ! Not sure when they were on the market but might have been sometime in the 70's ? ?
