This August sees the relaunch of McVitie's Boasters with a new modern packaging design and format plus the addition of two new indulgent variants.Boasters were launched in 1988 and are the top selling branded Special Treat Cookie. The introduction of new flavours is set to grow the brand further.
New Boasters Cranberry & Almond and New Boasters Dark Chocolate & Ginger join established favourites Chocolate Chunk and Chocolate & Hazelnut. Boasters are made with Belgian chocolate chunks and the chunky fruit and nut inclusions, such as almonds and cranberries, ensure this is a premium cookie with a homemade texture and appearance.
New upright packaging
The brand has also undergone a packaging revamp and the pack is now upright instead of long. This provides better use of shelf space, all four of the new packs fit into less space than the two old ones.
The new packs focus on the ingredients and the story behind McVitie's baking history reassuring consumers of the quality message. Enticing photography enhances the pack to create shelf-stand-out and attract interest.
Nick Stuart, Commercial Manager, at United Biscuits says: “These new variants and contemporary upright packaging bring Boasters right up to date. The move from long to upright packaging gives retailers more shelf-space so they can accommodate these new products and offer a full Boasters range to satisfy customers looking for special treats.”

A spokesman also said "Paulham says we are a bunch of dicks because we stopped making the Raisin and choc chips ones to pursue those crappy hazelnut ones. We have to agree and realise that he is correct about everything"
Paulham was unavailable for comment due "muscle damaging" exploits.

Luckily I was available for comment and I accepted the cheque on behalf of paulham.
-
What cheque?!
-
The one they gave you to help you get over the loss of your raisins.
-
What did they give you?
7p?
-
A little more than that. Put it this way the cruise is booked and the car insurance just went up.
-
Cruise: 15 minutes on the public park boating pond?
Insurance just went up: You pranged your scooter?
-
Cruise : 7 minutes on ferry from north shields to south shields.
Insurance just went up : i crashed my skateboard.
-
:'(
-
Don't cry pham, i have my three wheeler to fall back on.
-
Technically then, you don't have a leg to stand on.
-
boasters just don't appeal to me. supermarket own brand cookies are pretty good these days, and maryland's are on offer every other month ;)
-
That's weird, chocadmin as I always walk right by Maryland's offerings. I tried a packet once and was really unimpressed.
Still liquorice allsorts.
-
Liqorice allsorts are for old constipated people.
-
Do you enjoy them?
-
I used to like them when i was younger but not now. Maybe they have changed.
-
same for me (although i only went through a phase of liking them - didn't like them when i was really young).
As for maryland's, they're not great but they're cheap when they're on offer :)
