My work colleagues all seem to be on facebook so I wondered whether anyone here used it or any of the other social networking systems.
-
I don't think there are any that really appeal to someone of my age. As my kids and my students seem to be on them constantly, I feel they are not really for me.
I did join another Forum, associated with 'Yours' magazine and found the opposite. On almost every thread people went on and on about how terrible the Archbishop was to consider Sharia Law and how there were too many immigrants and how rude young people are and what's the best stair lift and how they 'made do' in the war and does anyone have the sheet music for 'They'll Always be an England'. It's hard to be middle aged - I'm too old for the younguns and too young for the oldies.

Facebook
Bebo
I have those two, nothing on them, there also friend Reunited: once nothing on that either
I know a tone of people that have the, and one of my mates have found out that he used to date Miss Scotland!!!
-
I have Facebook and mySpace profiles, but I never use mySpace anymore - it's just full of people promoting their shitty bands. I like Facebook because it helps me stay in touch with people; plus I get to see if people I hated at school have aged horribly/gone fat (and a pleasing number of them have!) ;)
-
Not one.
-
I have Facebook but don't use it that much. Go on Oldspice - of course you're not too old!
-
interesting, 3 of you have mentioned facebook but only 1 vote for it so far.... too embarrassed perhaps? ;)
-
Whoops - didn't even notice the poll!!! Have voted now - me, embarrassed? Never!
-
One of my colleagues has created me a facebook account, although i was going to create one today anyway. So I've set it up and bit more and am having a play around - who knows I might even write a facebook app to get some data from chocolate review :)

The London underground is fall of people desparately trying to avoid other people. The same people then spend hours on the computer talking to people they will probably never meet.
-
Not like here.
-
People on the underground are usually in a rush to get somewhere. It's hardly an environment conducive to idle chatter.

Isn't the capital full of thugs, murderers, terrorists and generally anti-social people? Not like the internet, it's full of nice friendly people - perfectly safe in here :P
BTW would anyone like to help a nice person transfer a few million dollars of oil money out of their oppressive country......
-
I would, but the nice Nigerian man hasn't given me back my account details yet.
