Title: Nutty Bars
Post by: lannyboy on August 03, 2008, 10:39:15 pm
Admitedly without any chocolate - sorry if my post is off topic - but I do miss this product. If my memory serves me right, I'm not even sure if I have the correct name, but Nutty Bars were available in the mid to late 1980's, possibly manufactured by Rountree Macintosh?? It was a tube shaped bar with a fudge centre covered in peanuts. Can anyone remember this bar or recommend any similar product.

I remember nutty bars. They were nice but I don't know of anything similar.

A Diaper Cake makes a great baby gift to welcome the new baby home. Practical, unique, and sure to please the new mom. If she's a particular fan of useless spam on a chocolate forum anyway.

A cake made from a nappy? I dread to think what the filling is....

And what on earth has that to do with Nutty Bars?

I've recently been thinking about the 1980's Nutty bar.It was amazing. As far as I have seen there isn't a bar like it. There is a company called The original handmade fudgecompany that makes fudge covered in peanuts but it won't be the soft fudge of the Nutty Bar. Nestle' have just brought out the baby Ruth bar here, which is chocolate covered.

Hi Juliet,

Welcome to you. The site is a bit quiet these days but in the time before facebook, we could have been called thriving.

I remember Nutty bars and, although I am not a great fan of nut confectionary, I must confess to have occasionally enjoyed snatching a bite or two of my husband's Nutty Bar back in the day.

Do you like in the UK? Are you saying that we are finally going to get some bars that have ben enjoyed abroad for decades? If so, perhaps Cadbury will finally relent and launch the Cherry Ripe bar here.

Look forward to chatting to you soon.

Spicey (otherwise known as Julie).

I had a cherry ripe bar last week, first one ever. It was bought by a friend from one of these shops that sell overpriced imported foodstuffs. The shop was in Portsmouth and the bar was £2.
If I remember rightly the bar had a new Zealand distribution contact address.
