Title: Woman aged 70 gives birth to twins

I think it's all getting a bit too much:

I can understand younger couples wanting to have babies by IVF (although not because they want a particular gender) but at 70 ???

The menopause happens for a reason. When those kids are going through puberty, their mother will be 85 - if she's even still alive. It's just selfish.

Well, I think jailing her is going a bit far but I do think that having IVF at that age just because you want a boy is a selfish and risky thing to do and it's also insulting to their daughters. In any case, how is the twin girl going to feel, knowing she is so second best to her brother?

Didn't she get pregnant because her husband wanted a son to be heir to his farm? Poor children going to school with people thinking their parents are their grandparents.

Shouldn't be allowed.  Didn't somebody say before you're not allowed to adopt if you're over 40?
Something like that anyway.  IVF at 70 is totally wrong.

It definitely used to be 40, but I think it may have been raised now.

70 is just not right.  40 and 50 is one thing but 70.. no way!

And there's me decorating the spare bedroom and planning on adopting 5 or 6.

Yes, perhaps the medical profession should have offered then psychiatric help instead of IVF. Mind you, the IVF probably brought in more money.
