A work colleague brought this in today. It is another Robert Opie book.
There was 2 pages of photos of crisps from that era (heaven!) and 2 pages of chocolate bars!
I discovered bars I never knew existed.
Oldspice, GC - Cadbury Rumba? Cadbury Welcome? Cadbury Oranges and Lemons? Swisskit? Jameson's Fruit and Nut log?
Plain Choice - like Milk Tray bar with dark choc!
Plain choc Toffee crisp, Milk and Plain Aero (combined) Flake Plain, Flake Dipped, Crunchie Peppermint
They had pics of Golden Cup (5p!) and Prize Bars, Fry's Five centres, Marathons (2.5p!) Tiffin, etc, etc.
Ah! The nostalgia!
The groceries pages show a toilet cleaner called "Sanipan" and that old washing powder "Omo".
You couldn't get away with these nowadays!
Rumba had definitely been mentioned on the Forum before and I remember it - just - although it wasn't around for long. I have mentioned Plain Choice AND Peppermint Crunchie - with a green mint honeycomb. That wasn't around for long either.
The 1960s/1950s scrapbook is also good - with celebrated bars such as Caramac Miunt Fudge Bar and small Cadbury bars filled with pineapple cream or tangerine cream.
I am surprised you haven't heard of Omo Paulham. You can still get it abroad - in Europe.
Makes me feel really old to hear Paulham talking about bars of my youth. Goldencup and I must be the grannies of the forum!
