Title: Wonky or not?
Post by: chocadmin on March 02, 2008, 09:15:13 pm

OK, so it's only been on for 10mins so far, but thought I'd add a post for peoples thoughts about the new programme on Channel 4 - Willie's Wonky Chocolate factory.

Looks good so far, and I've not had any venezuelan choc I didn't like Tongue

I am fascinated by all the recipes he manages to sneak chocolate into.
And I will definitely be trying the home made chocolate spread he showed right at the start. That looked delicious.

I'll keep watching. That's certain.

I watched this and quite enjoyed it, but I found some of the recipes a bit spurious. Ten minutes of him making gazpacho and then a quick 'oh yeah, I like to crumble a couple of cubes of chocolate in' at the end - were they short of material?

The producers are obviously trying to invent Willie as some kind of Jean-Christophe Novelli/Marco Pierre White figure; lots of shots of him with his shirt off (I know it's Venezuala, but still!) I can't take to his wife; something about her gets on my nerves.

Funny you should say Marco Pierre White, think Willie supplies him with chocolate now Smile

I think I must have been concentrating on the chocolate.
I missed the whole shirt off thing.

Not that I'm complaining, as he's not really my type, but anyone who knows me would tell you it's not like me to miss a half naked man! LOL
