Public lavatories could become a convenience of the past under government plans to transfer provision of toilet facilities to the private sector.
When was the last time you used a public loo and how many do you rate it out of 10?
Some people will steal anything . We don't have any decent loos here. A while ago there was a public loo in South shields won an award for being the cleanest. The lady attendant put a vase of fresh flowers in every morning but I donn't know if that loo is still about.
You think someone might have nicked the loo aswell? I think that's taking stealing too far.

The loos round here are not too bad. There is soft toilet roll which no-one steals. The water is always freezing, but there is usually soap. No paper towels to dry your hands on though.
The worst loos I've seen lately are at my local Tesco. They smell really bad, the water simply refuses to come out of the taps unless coaxed and it's even worse if two people are trying to get water at the same time, as then instead of them getting a supply of their own, half of the water that was available to you is given to the other person!

The hand dryers don't work half the time AND you have to watch the person who just weighed you out a lump of Best Cooked Ham leave the toilet block WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS!!!!!
Oooooohh HOW MUCH DO I HATE THAT?

Yes, but those old ladies don't half get cross when you squat behind the 'Mill & Boon' shelves.

We have three public loos in our library, checked every hour and immaculately maintained. However, you wouldn't believe the stuff that gets nicked from them - toilet rolls (obviously), liquid soap from the dispensers (they must bring in containers and fill them up), on two occasions the toilet seat and on one the flush handle mechanism! I can't imagine the mentality of people that go to a library loo, presumably armed with the appropriate tools, and start taking the thing apart!
