Title: Did Prince Philip order Dianas death?
Post by: loulou on January 14, 2008, 11:29:35 pm
Princess Diana's former butler has told the inquest into her death it is "impossible" that she was murdered on the orders of the Royal Family.
Who thinks Paul Burrell has been paid to keep quiet?

I think Phillip is smarter than people think!
and he had a hand in it,

Here a question: Diana was in EMband - like the mummy's, and when that happens it impossible to prove if someone was pregent!

I think the Royal family is in this all the way up to their tiaras.
It's disgusting.

All I hope is that Paul Burrell was paid enough for some pretty heavy knock out drops. That's the only way his conscience is going to let him get any sleep at night from now on.

I think it was probably an accident.  If she was murdered I think it's ridiculous to suggest our Royal Family had a hand in it.

I think it was an accident. Prince Philip could not 'order' MI6 to do anything, especially not murder the mother of his grandchilren. The Prince had known Diana since she was a small child, long before she married Charles and obviously had a warm regard for her.

Aside from that, if we focus on the accident, there were too many factors that would have to come together to cause her certain death if this really was a plot.

Yes, as PG Wodehouse would have said, 'There's too many imponderables'.

I think it was an accident too.  I don't believe Diana was planning to marry Dodi and I certainly don't believe she was pregnant.

Ian Hislop was on Question Time a few months back when the inquest first opened, and I remember him saying 'if you're driving on busy roads at 120mph in the dark, you're not wearing a seatbelt and your driver is drunk, there's only one likely outcome'. And that's it in a nutshell. As much as the conspiracy theorists would like to think otherwise, it was a tragic accident.

As for the pregnancy rumour, one of the doctors who worked to try and save Diana has confirmed she was not pregnant - and he can confirm this because he saw her womb. I'm sure her sons could have lived a long and happy life without the knowledge that their mother was so badly mangled that doctors could see her inside, but the relentless press speculation forced that poor man to come out and say something that should have remained private.

This reminds me of the arguments that Jack the Ripper was actually Prince Eddie and if it wasn't him it was his tutor and if it wasn't him it was the Queen's surgeon who involved himself in a plot to kill the five prostitutes who knew about a secret marriage that Prince Eddie entered into with a Catholic whore, resulting in the birth of a daughter, all of which was obviously a threat to the future of the Royal Family ... and so it goes on.

I don't believe in co-incidence, so I still think she was 'done away with'.
However I do think that it is a crying shame that after all this time this arguement STILL rages on, without a single thought to the absolute hell it must be putting her children through.

She is dead and it won't help her now, and even if the royal family was responsible I don't think it will help the boys to listen to this speculation about whether their grandparents ordered the death of their mother with the sanction of their father so he could marry his mistress!

I am certain being quite intelligent this is nothing that has not occured to them. But if they have dismissed it as impossible then really it is time to let it go. If they are satisfied then who am I to argue?

Still I don't believe in co-incidences.

Ahh well.

I think the truth is no-one will ever know for sure and it's time now to let the poor woman rest in peace. Then perhaps the sons she loved so much can find some too finally.

I don't understand why Princess Diana had to die so that Charles could marry his mistress. His divorce from Diana left him free to marry Camilla in theory. However, there is a clause that prevents the monarch from marrying a divorcee (as Camilla surely was). That said, Charles was not actually the monarch at the time of his marriage so his union with Camilla, although built on shaky ground, is sound.

There is no coincidence either that I can see. Diana got into a car driven by a man who had drunk enough to make him three times over the British legal limit. She was not wearing a seat belt and she was driven at speed through a busy city street (admittedly, chased by reporters). The car crashed and she died of her injuries. Much the same has happened to thousands of other passengers in the same circumstances.

If, by an enormous stretch of the imagination, the Royals did consider getting rid of Diana, given how much she was adored, worshipped and fawned over, they would surely have thought twice. There would have been much more danger of the Royals being dragged down by such a revelation, than by a rather sad Princess maybe, and maybe not, marrying a Muslim.

I agree that she should be left to rest in peace and that her children should be spared more heartache. These allegations are a figment in the imagination of a vengeful and heartbroken father who cannot come to terms with his son's death and who had a huge axe to grind with the British establishment long before his son's death.

I don't agree with all of your arguements oldspice, I find the convenience of it all very hard to swallow.  But you are entitled to your opinion, as am I. Smile
However I don't see how you can blame a grieving father for all the rumours and allegations. All he has done is insist that the whole thing was looked into fully and comprehensively, and not simply brushed under the carpet because they are the royal family. I would want exactly the same thing if I had lost my son under such circumstances.

The newspapers have fuelled it, as have her so-called friends in order to sell books, exposes and 'tell all stories of Diana's private life from their perspective'. That is the sickest thing about this whole thing I think. How many people who called themselves her friends have come crawling into the daylight to take advantage of their position. Angry

I don't care what her butler thought of her private life, nor am I bothered whether or not she would have married Mr AlFayed. It's none of my business, and completely irrelevant now since they're both dead.

I think a father would have to be pretty sick to deal with the issues he has with the fact that he was not accepted as a UK citizen by the government by using the unexpected and tragic death of his son to try and make a point.
Sad, and desperate to have someone to blame definitely, grieving certainly, but vengeful? I personally don't think so.

But that's just my opinion.

I agree with several of your points and I think we both agree that Diana should rest in peace and her sons should beable to get on with their lives and put all this behind them.

I admit I am no great fan of AlFayed and I would not put anything past him, but I respect him for trying to do the best by his son. However, he should think about the pain he causes to others by his allegations. After all, it is his assertions that Prince Philip ordered her death and his constand pushing for a full inquest that has bought this about more thanten years after her death.

Yes, that's true.
Isn't it awful how an inability to accept fate and all it brings, good and bad, can make you do the most thoughtless, and often selfish things?

I feel for him though...So much. No-one should outlive their children, especially not in such a way.

Perhaps this last official finding will see an end to it.

Although whilst there is a profit to be made by someone I doubt it.

'Many people' believe Elvis is alive and well and driving a bus in Camden Town. That doesn't mean it's true.
