Title: Reg Hollis slashes wrists

Actor Jeff Stewart - Reg Hollis of The Bill fame - has reacted badly to news that his contract will not be renewed, slashing his wrists in his dressing room. Stewart has since been treated in and released from hospital:

Didn't he have a famous girlfriend?  I thought he was dating Joan Collins daughter or is that wrong?

I haven't watched The Bill for many years but I always liked the character of reg. I know he's a bit nerdy and not much of a playboy but he had a down-to-earth decency that appealed to me.  I'm a bit of a nerd freak actually. I had a thing about Roy Cropper in Corrie for similar reasons. There's such an air of vulnerable appeal around these chaps.

His character has been in The Bill since the beginning, I wonder why he was fired.

I think he has had lots of problems over the years - maybe his behaviour just got too bad. Also how old is Reg meant to be? Maybe he's reaching retirement age for a police officer.

And you're right Lou, he did used to go out with Tara Newley.

I remember the actor who played Tosh died not long after he was fired from The Bill.
