Title: Lack of new choc this Christmas?
Post by: smurfboy on December 09, 2007, 04:24:52 pm

Is it me, or are there normally more new products launched in the run-up to Xmas? Does anyone else think they've been a bit thin on the ground this year?

After Nestle's finger burning episode a while back (was that 1 or 2 years ago now!?) the manufacturers are playing it straight down the middle and taking no chances at all, it seems to me.
I think it is a shame as praline, toffee and nuts do become pretty boring after a while.

Consumer panels must have told them to concentrate on tablets this year.

I'm not a big chocolate brazil fan but the ones from Ringtons are lovely so I'll be looking for them this week.

I had to laugh. The tin of Quality Street in our office promised 'two new sweets'. Right. Yes. They were 'chocolate block' and 'toffee delux'.  Fancy putting toffees in Quality Street.

The dirty, filthy bastards!

LOL  Apparently a new shop, wittily called 'Sweeties' has opened near me, selling handmade chocs and sweets.  Must pay it a visit before the Big Day.

Nestle and Cadburys are both extremely boring chocolate companies. The low cocoa content annoys me, I got Chocolate Buttons last week for the first time in ages. 20% cocoa mass. That's tragic. Tasted of flavourings not chocolate.

Actually, I do agree, Oldspice.
The thing is, I don't recall ever seeing a plain looking ginger haired person.

I only recall seeing the extremes.

Surely that's a wig, not very expertly arranged?  Isn't it Mick Hucknell's whipsy, turning-grey hair with that mad ginger woman from Catherine Tate superimposed behind?

Ahhhhhhh!

See!? I rest my case. You had to call her a mad ginger woman. Ginger clearly wasn't enough.

Well, she is mad. She screams at the slightest thing. I don't think it's because she's ginger, she's just unhinged!

My boss had long red hair and she's gorgeous - even at 58. She looks like Jane Asher.

Oh, I'd wouldn't like to go home a quid light in my pay packet.
She looks a right nippy sweet.
