A rare first edition of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest has been handed in to a charity shop.
The book, which dates back to 1898, was discovered at the branch of Oxfam in Nantwich, South Cheshire - appropriately inside a handbag.
Staff at the shop said they had no idea who donated the items, and have put the book on sale for 650.
My friend worked in a charity shop last year and was told to put everything that looked half decent to one side for the antique dealer that came every monday morning. If they got some decent money for the china they kept it from the till for their christmas party.
Eurgh did you touch it with your bare hands GC or were you wearing gloves?

When it sold for that amount I practically kissed it!
Is it on your wall bounty?
No, I made the whole thing up, for comic effect.
