Title: miniature pigs.
Post by: loulou on October 16, 2007, 12:16:50 am

A Devon fun farm is reaping the rewards of a nine-year breeding programme for miniature pigs.

The pigs, which are about a fifth of the size of ordinary pigs, have been a hit with visitors at Pennywell Farm.

TV celebrity Jonathan Ross bought two of the pint-sized porkers as pets at 150 each and there have even been offers from as far away as Australia.

The pocket pigs are a variant of the rare kune kune breed, which are found in New Zealand.

Definitely not.  I have not eaten any form of meat since February.(does pork scratchings count as meat?) That Gordon Ramsay tv show where they showed the pigs being slaughtered upset me too much.  I did give in to chicken from KFC twice but then realised I wasn't enjoying it. So it was the end of january/beginning of feb when I last ate meat.
I eat fish most days . Working on the riverside next to the fish quay makes it easy to buy fresh fish each day.

I'm afraid pork scratchings count - but well done anyway for mostly keeping up with it! Do you find you miss meat? I never did, but I think you adapt more easily as a child.

Smurfy, I don't miss meat one bit and have realised I eat far more vegetables than when I was eating meat.  I have never tasted burgers or sausages and never liked the look of mince so the only meat I really gave up on was chicken, pork, lamb and beef.

wjp, if you had a pet pig what would you call it? I would call mine Snorky.
