They won't ever bring it back unfortunately - it wouldn't be the same if it wasn't Mackintosh's.Cry

Because it was made by Mackintosh who were sold to Rowntree, who were subsequently sold to Nestle.

No other old Rowntree bars taste like they used to - why would Golden Cup be any different?

When a huge europen money orientated conglomerate like NESTLE buys huge swathes of our confectionary industry its inevitable what will happen, the same applies to KRAFT who bought out TERRY,S and now we hear CADBURYS are closing there large factory in BRISTOL and moving production to POLAND is it any surprise our products either vanish for good or taste like crap. In fact i am surprised CADBURY,S has,nt moved to china AFTER ALL EVERYTHING ELSE WE BUY SEEMS TO ORIGINATE FROM THERE.

It's terrible for the environment, having all these products made in Poland, then shipped or flown over here. Besides, as the Polish economy improves( as their president has promised it will)  the wages will go up and manufactering will move on to some South American country. Still, at least it means the cocoa beans won't have to travel so far.
