Title: Convicted doesn't like being branded a criminal!
Post by: oldspice on July 17, 2007, 06:00:44 pm
A gym instructor convicted of assault has successfully appealed against wearing an electronic tag because he says it made him look like a criminal.   LOL  (Well he bloody well IS!)

Lewis Beer, 21, of Cheltenham, told the judge at Gloucester Crown Court he would be refused work as the tag was visible when he wore his gym kit.

He was fired by Cheltenham Borough Council after being convicted of an assault at Moda nightclub in April.

Judge Timothy Mousley QC ordered him to do 30 hours of unpaid work instead.

In April, Beer pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order, 150 hours' unpaid work and a curfew with tagging.

This man knew his job was in danger if he committed such a crime so why shouldn't he receive a fitting punishment?

It's like the man who appealed against a driving ban, automatically imposed after he got FOUR speeding convictions. He claimed driving a car was essential to earning his living. SO WHY DID HE PUT HIS LICENCE AT RISK???

Yea gods! These people just make me so MAD!!!

Capital punishment has its uses.
I mean, what a deterrent and if it doesn't stop the crime at least they won't commit it again.

I blame the judge who agreed to let him have it taken off as much as I blame the crim.
