"I was sobbing my heart out, I downed half a bottle of champagne from the mini bar in one and went home with mascara all over my face, that was really tough," she said.

Going home with mascara on her face was tough?

I mean, it's a kids' book, an exiting one if you are 7 to 14, say. Those two cover editions(child and adult) really make me think some people need to visit their local library once in a lifetime, perhaps.

Post by: goldencup on July 10, 2007, 10:34:55 am: I still find it quite mind-boggling that she had all the ideas for the seven novels when she started, so she was apparently writing bits of all of them at the same time. There are some very clever moments with links between the books that are totally lost in the films but tie up loose ends for those that notice these things.

Post by: oldspice on July 10, 2007, 07:14:21 pm: It's the same with Blade Runner. The book, originally called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? was much better than the film with extra bits that made the story hang together much better than the film.

One of my all time favourites.
Philip K Dick's books are so accesible for sci-fi.
