Post by: loulou on June 03, 2007, 11:13:03 pm
Believe it or not this is an important question that I am asking for good reason.

What is your favourite and least favourite colours?

Love Red.
Hate Pink.

When do we find out what you want to know for? If we do that is. LOL

Well first I need all your answers, then I have a second colour question before I tell you my reason.

OK, as long as you accept responsibility for the fact that the suspense and my curiosity combined are sure to kill me off. LOL

I have to be awkward and say it depends what the colours are for.  I like wearing purple and pink but wouldn't choose those colours for painting walls for instance.

A very deep, orangey red.  But it's not just 'red'  Look at this Vermillion Flycatcher from south Eastern Arizona and you'll see what I mean.

So part two of the question?

Post by: loulou on June 05, 2007, 06:21:40 pm

Please put the following colours in order of what you feel is the most visually attractive .

Red, green, orange, blue, yellow, gold, brown, black, grey, purple.

And if you can please tell me which of the two colours listed go best together.

Red, orange, yellow, gold, blue, green, purple, brown, grey and (black).

Black is not a colour it is the absence of colour.  All matter absorbs electro-magnetic radiation at different wavelengths, and the wavelengths  of visible light which are not absorbed are reflected back.  As most of the spectrum is part of visible light our brains interpret this as colour.  Some things like a black hole absorb all the visible light i.e don't reflect anything back and therefore have no colour = black is not a colour.  QED.

Oooooooh look at that.......
When I copied and pasted those colours from your list Loulou, (because I'm far too lazy to type them all out seperately LOL) it infected my whole post and made it all pink. LOL

Sorry for pink pinching.

Oh look smurfboy...we like the same two colours best. That's nice. Smile

Nah you are both wrong. My logo design is half done.  It's a a block of choc with chocolate review etched through itSmile.  As for the Olympics design I would have just done this:
Medals

Back to colours.  The question is on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you like orange?

1 being not  a lot and 10 being a lot.

Erm that is difficult. It depends what for.

Generally as long as I don't have to wear it, it would be around a 6.

Depends on what, but for me probably a 4 or 5.
Is there a prize if someone says 10? Wink

I really want everyone to say 10 but it isn't going to happen.LOL I will reveal the reasons for all my colour questions. My website is orange and I read that orange is cheap looking so I considered changing it to gold and navy blue as this is supposed to be a good colour combination for websites .

I avoid orange websites, but that's because I used to write one and I have bad memories!

I visit dwergs blog (dwergs.com) now and again and his colour scheme is orange and green (oompa loompa from first chocolate factory film). Nothing wrong with that at all.
