The Spice Girls are back together recording a song , hoping it will be this year's Christmas No 1.
I predict we will have Cliff Richard, Take That and the Spice Girls all battling it out then some ridiculous Timmy Mallet meets Mr blobby will come along and pip them at the post.
What do you think? Answers of 'i couldn't care less' not necessary.
-
Ah, the old 'sponsored by the Inland Revenue' comeback single!
-
i own both spice grils albums.
i don't know what the hell i was playing at in the late 90's, but i'm not proud of it.
-
maybe you were a little confused.
-
i think i must have been.
i also own a Steps album.
-
Aw that's so sweet. How about S club 7 ?
-
The mind boggles. If we're owning up to embarrassing music buys I will admit to buying Dancing Queen (more than thiry years ago though!)
At a recent car boot sale, my daughter could not sell her Spice Girls CD for even 20p!!!
-
Ok I admit to having the entire collection of Now that's what I call Music right from the first one. Obviously a lot of them are records not cd's.
-
The Spice Girls never did it for me. I'm very much a Girls Aloud bloke especially when they do the St. Trinian's thing.
Oldspice - Don't be embarrassed by owning Dancing Queen, I have it too. Anything by Abba is top hole if you ask me.
-

absolutely not - i drew the line there!!!!!!!!!
-
I think most people own a Abba album.
-
I only bought Dancing Queen. Abba is too pure for me. For music to really move me it has to come with some human experience (Blues, Folk) or be clever and ad lib (Jazz) or be deep and stirring (Mahler, Mozart etc) or have a raw, urban edge (Rolling Stones, Clash, The Animals) or just be clever pop (Beatles, Beach Boys).
I find Abba a bit over-produced. They have a perfect studio sound that i find a bit sterile.
-
I have a Carpenters album. Top that.

I agree with that. I would much rather a rough performance with raw emotion over an overproduced, polished, sickly sweet studio recording.
-
I have a Carpenters album. Top that.
Now, for The Carpenters I will make an exception. Karen Carpenter singing Rainy Days and Mondays or Superstar is very moving and her voice is almost as pure as Joan Baez.
-
She had an amazing voice. It was tragic what happened to her.

Brand New Seekers. BEAT THAT! (and to make it worse i bought it for 'beg steal or borrow'.)
-
I love Joan Baez, and Sweet Sir Galahad is my favourite song of hers.
I have posted this before because I know Smurfboy likes her, but I would advise anyone to watch this clip of her singing the afore mentioned song.

Not a great drummer though!

I have them all too Lou, but mine are a mixture of cassettes and CDs.
Speaking of the Spice Girls, has the paternity test been done on Mel B's baby yet?

No, I think they're still queuing to have the test done.
-
My mum bought me the SuperTramp CD for xmas this last year. I think it's great, but I'm not sure I'd tell my friends.

Does anyone else like QUEEN or is that a stupid question? I trhink Freddie Mercury was awesome.
-
I like Queen and would never put them in the 'perfect pop' category. I don't like all their tracks but, when some of my friends were swooning over the Bay City Rollers (is anyone going to admit to having any of their records???) others of us were listening to Queen, Bowie and some of the early punk bands.
-
erm, guess who has a Bay City Rollers record?

My 15 yr old son has just ordered the Queen triple album.
-
erm, guess who has a Bay City Rollers record?
That would be me. I swear it was a present from my sister in law and I didn't really want it.
-
I've got one too!
-
Groan! I can't beat that. I am sorry but I can't!
Unless, unless... how about my copy of I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder??
-
DNA tests have proven Eddie Murphy is the father of Mel B's baby.
-
Ha ha ha - I bet Mel B is thinking 'ker-ching!'
-
I was so pleased for her that the truth came out.
