The biggest and most anticipated Boxing match of all time takes place this Saturday night, and will be shown live on Sky Sports 1.
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
-
No
-
umm... nope!
-
Yes I do. I think Oscar will win in the fourth round.
-
Nah, Floyd in the third.
-
ou mean the drunk cook?
-
Yes I do. I think Oscar will win in the fourth round.
Bold predition, he is the harder hitter, and his left hook could hurt Floyd, but will he be able to land it?
-
Nah, Floyd in the third.
No chance I'm afraid, I do think Floyd will win, he is younger, a lot quicker and possibly more skilled. However, he lacks power, and will be even less powerful at light-middlewight.
I predict Floyd to win on points.

The only difference between boxers and thugs is that boxers get paid for it.

Thats not true, these men are highly trained and conditioned athletes, who happen to compete in a combat sport.
Some low level heavyweight fights resemble bar room brawls, but fighters of the calabre of De La Hoya and Mayweather are unbelievebly skilled offensively, and defensively, which will lead to an intreaging tactical battle.
I feel Mayweathers superior spped and reflexes will outweigh De La Hoya's natural size and strength advantage, leading him to a close but clear unanimous decision.

That doesn't change the fact that if they did what they do outside of a boxing ring, it would be a criminal offence. How many other 'sports' can you say that about?
-
Quite a few I would say, how would you feel if someone rugby tackled you in the street, or slide tackled you, or if someone threw a sharp javelin in the street, or threw darts etc.
It's a crazy argument, because they don't do it outside a Boxing Ring, thats the whole point. It's between two trained athletes, not the average person on the street.
-
Trained? Trained to thump each other? Well, that's the kind of 'training' that makes you a yob in my opinion.
-
i'd like to see Oscar De Le Hoya win..
he has to be one of the best looking boxers ever i think..
-
He might not be so pretty after the match.
-
Ironicaly, its Mayweather who has the nickname "Pretty Boy". De La Hoya is better looking however.
-
I wouldn't jump over De La Hoya to get to Mayweather.
-
Bet you wouldn't

Floyd Mayweather's light middleweight victory over Oscar de la Hoya grossed $120m (60m), confirming it as the richest fight in boxing history.
The previous richest fight was the 2002 heavyweight bout between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis, which made $112m (56m).
