After last year's fiasco when my sons took me at my word and didn't get me anything at all (didn't they realise I didn't mean it?
) I await tomorrow morning with bated breath.....
Has anyone bought or received any original Mothers' Day gifts?
Oh please say i have'nt missed it AGAIN..
every year i try to remember in time that it is in March..and every year i forget or just remember when it's to late to send a card..
i don't know why we can't just celebrate it on the same day world wide..

my mother whined at me today for her card not getting to her on time. she lives in the canary islands for christs sake, where the postal service is almost non-existant, and she blames me!? i posted it weeks ago!
i emailed her a card last year to be sure it arrived on time but got it in the neck anyway for it being too impersonal. i just can't win here.
Well at least you remembered wjp666, and in plenty of time too. That has to be the main thing?
I wish I'd emailed my mum a card this year, but I went to her house at tea time when I knew she'd be in, with a big bunch of daffodils because someone here mentioned getting mum's flowers for mother's day. First of all she was happy with the flowers, until she realised I'd picked them from her garden! Well I'm on a tight budget and she has loads of them. I didn't think she'd mind.

Well, OK I didn't think she'd notice.

Then she wasn't happy because I'd turned up at tea time, she said I only ever went to see her when I was hungry.

I told her that wasn't true, sometimes I'm cold or broke or I have washing.

parents, ay? who needs 'em?
Make the most of them while you have them.
I am glad your mum liked her new bag and the lovely dinner you took her to. Sometimes it's nice just to have a chance to sit down and chat with mum's isn't it?
My mum and I were sat having coffee the other morning just chatting (it'd been ages since we'd done it) and we were having so much fun we forgot to keep an eye on the clock and she was late for work.

It's lucky her boss is so nice.
