Toasted cheese and onion, with either Edam or Havarti. If I buy a sandwich I like the mexican bean wrap from Marks, or ow fat egg mayo and cress.

If it's a bought one - M & S 'Wallace & Gromit' (Wensleydale, caramelised carrot chutney & salad leaves of some description).  If I make it, my favourite is beetroot, cheese and salad cream.  But at the moment both of those are off limits. Cry

If I was to buy a sandwich it would be a Ploughman's. I don't usually eat bread but if I made a sandwichat home it would be bacon or maybe toasted cheese and onion.

Can I ask you a silly question Cherry_Ripe?

Please if you don't normally eat bread what do you make your sandwiches with?

I've been feeling very full and uncomfortable after eating bread just lately and would love an idea of things I could use instead.

Thanks.Big%20smile

pitta bread is a good alternative.

But pitta bread is still bread! Wheat!

I used to make a sandwich out of ryvita, but you have to make it just before you eat it otherwise it goes all soggy and yuk. I tried rye bread but it's like eating a brick.

Alternatives i guess are about ideas other than sandwiches:-

sushi (yum)

rice salad

pasta salad

baked potatoes

I also went through a phase of eating cereal, fruit and yoghurt for lunch

It's not a silly question, I just didn't say what I meant very clearly. What I meant was, I hardly ever eat sandwiches.

When I do, I make them with wholemeal deli rolls from Tesco; 2 packs (8 rolls) for 80p at the moment I think. I keep them in the freezer and eat them as and when I fancy bread. They are nice to go with soup too Big%20smile

I think Scarlet wanted an alternative to wheat products as they make her feel uncomfortable.

Yes that's what I meant, but I didn't put it very well I don't think after reading my post again.

Wish there was an edit button.Unhappy Ah well. I'll just have to read my posts better before I put them up. LOL.

I don't know what it is about bread at the moment. I've never had problems with it before and now suddenly, it seems to upset my tummy. I don't get it.Ermm

It's the number of posts but I forget how many.  It used to be 5,000 but Chocadmin changed it recently to something a little more easily achievable!  Keep posting....

Found what I was looking for from Chocadmin:

Also I've updated the group ladder scale (this is the automatic progression of stars). 2stars is 100 posts, 3stars (and increased access to the forum - e.g. editing posts, accessing the calendar) is 500 posts, 4stars is 1000 posts and 5 stars is still 5000 posts.
