Title: Japanese shops
Post by: kevvosa on January 30, 2005, 11:35:34 am
Does anyone have any Japanaese shops near where they live? I ask
because it just dawned on me that they may sell the Japanese Kitkat
varieties. I have been in the Chinatown where I live and into a Chinese
supermarket (anyone fancy some squid?), but still dont know where to
find a Japanese one.

WE have a few in Birmingham, If I go near there I will go in and see. Lets hope I dont have to wade through innards to find them.

Sometimes the big department stores are good for things like this though, like House of Fraser/Harvey Nicks/Selfridges.

Is Harvey Nicks the "poosh" shop? The one with a large man opening the door for all the cusomters.

I had a look in but no Kitkats. Though they did have lavender milk chocolate and lemon flavour chocolate. And Timtams.

There is an import candy shop in Telford called something like 'Candy From Heaven' that sell lots of different Kit Kat types... not to mention cinnamon tictacs, almond M+Ms, white smarties (White choc and white shell), all the Hersheys range, Caramilk etc.

They import from America, Africa, Japan and all over the place. Well worth a look!

Ok, I looked it up for you... the shop is called: "Sweets From Heaven" and the address is:

14 Sherwood Sq, Telford, TF34DG

It is actually part of an indoor shopping centre, and is next to Debenhams.

Oh god, that is awful, because i must walk past that all the time and have just never thought it was anything other than a scabby cabin which sold quite alot of jelly bellys.

I am going to be on a mission.

I know what you mean about the shops appearance.

(Actually it was the Jelly Bellys that drew me in... )

But then I saw the chocolate selection... and all the things I've never tried before... and I was sold. Look around as some items are hidden, the cinnammon tictacs were right near the till, sort of behind it, and almost not noticable.

I am  not a jelly belly fan, anything jellyish makes me chuffy.
