When they originally estimated 2.5 billion, I thought, 'yeah whatever'.  At the time I thought 12 billion would be nearer the mark.  Now, I really think the sky's the limit.

it's worth it. the town where i am (weymouth!) is getting all the sailing events... so i'm rather looking forward to it!

Remember  the Millennium Dome? It cost about five times more than it should have and functioned for precisely one year!

However, The Olympics will attract a lot of money and it is  the perfect opportunity to clear up all those awful waste grounds around East London once and for all.

And apparently we're bidding for the 2018 World Cup too - because 9 billion isn't enough to spend on sport in one decade!

Only 9 billion? That is a relief, I thought it was going to be a lot!
