Title: Nestle Fruit and Nut
Post by: smurfboy on January 27, 2005, 04:03:00 pm
Tried this last night as I saw it on a special price - only 79p for a big slab. Unsurprisingly, the chocolate was nowhere near Cadbury standard, but the raisin and peanut combination (rather than the usual raisin and almond) works really well. Has anyone else tried it? I'm guessing Paulham and Goldencup have not been tempted...

I think that's unfair Smurfboy - I haven't mentioned my hatred of peanuts for, ooh it must be several days now!

What confuses me is if you look at the cocoa solids content on Cadbury and Nestle slabs, it's pretty similar, yet the difference in taste is so marked - porquoi?

I think it must be the milk content. I actually have trouble eating
Cadbury's chocolate as the milk in it causes a lot of mucus/phlegm and
I end up spitting it out.

I think the Aero Caramel bar has 25% cocoa solids in it.

I have tried this and I did notice that the bar was 'well filled'! Meaning there is a lot of peanuts and raisins in it when compared to Cadbury fruit and nut.

Yes I noticed that; lots more nuts. Perhaps it is to make up for the slightly naff chocolate...

Maybe I'm lactose intolerant. I get the same with white chocolate which is very milky. Too much information?
