Title: Mars Planets to launch
Post by: kevvosa on February 01, 2007, 06:09:52 pm

"Mars is gearing up for its biggest product
launch of the year, Mars Planets, as it looks to build and expand its
hold on the bite-size sector.
Mars Planets comprise three chocolate
balls – crispy, chewy caramel and soft nougat – all covered in Mars
chocolate and available in a 37g impulse pack which retails at 41p.
Each ball can be enjoyed on its own or eaten together to create
different taste sensations says trade relations manager Andrea Taylor.
Mars
Planets will be going into the trade from the end of March with a £3m
TV advertising campaign due to break on April 23 and run for four
weeks. Another such burst is planned for July 16.
In addition to
this, £1.2m has been earmarked for poster advertising and two million
sample packs which will be distributed during May and June."

That's the trade lingo. They call things that sell for around 30-50p "impulse" purchases as people buy them on impulse.

They will still use peanut oil in their manufacturing process so I can't get excited by them I'm afraid.

I wonder if it's possible to tell what's inside each ball or if it's just pot luck.
