Title: Nestle’s sharing bags
Post by: kevvosa on January 30, 2007, 06:55:19 pm

The growing popularity of sharing bags has
prompted Nestle Rowntree to launch a range of 12 which feature its key
confectionery lines.
In the past three years sales of sharing bags
have grown 9.5% in value and now account for 14% of all confectionery
sales says Graham Walker, trade communications manager.
The range
comprises: Milk Chocolate Aero Bubbles; Quality Street; Peppermint Aero
Bubbles and Munchies Bubbles and retail at £1.49.
The Rowntree’s
products include: Pick & Mix; Fruit Pastilles; Fruit Pastilles
Blackcurrant & Strawberry and Fruit Gums. They retail at £1.19.
There
are also smaller sharing bags for Milkybar and Smarties which retail at
79p. The final products are Polo Original and Polo Sugar Free retailing
at 79p.

The Fruit Gums are great because they are the proper fruit-shaped ones which always seem to taste better than the ones in tubes.  But for sharing?  I don't think so!

I've seen them in Woolworths so far and Morrisons have the bags of Aero Bubbles and Quality Street.

You mean cos of the gelatine or have they stopped being made?

The gelatine. I'm pretty sure they're still being made - it's just that I can't eat them

I haven't had any in ages but can't say I miss them. You can get 'vege jellies' but they're expensive, and to be honest taste crap.

I miss Fruit Pastilles too Smurfboy, for exactly the same reason. I know they don't HAVE to use gelatine, there are other things they could use instead but they just wont!

I eat American Hard Gums instead, most manufacturers don't use gelatine in them. They are not really a sustitute but they are good to eat when the craving for something like Fruit Pastilles gets very strong.
