He's claiming he's not joining for the money. Yeah right, he's swapping the best league in the world for a pub league purely for footballing reasons...
LA is full of false, vain people - Posh should fit in very well there.
Purely for footballing reasons eh? How much real football will he experience? The Americans just dabble British football. They don't really believe in it - they just don't want to be left out of something that has huge Western appeal.
I was watching an opld recording of The Spice Girls last night. They were singing Wannabe - right at the start of their careers. Victoria looked really pretty - along with that Baby Spice. All the rest looked like chavvy schoolgirls.
I know nothing about football at all so cannot comment on whether his present team is better than his next one. I will have to take smurfboy's word for that. Which I am happy to do. So if it is not the money!!!!! And we all believe him right? Then I wonder if he is getting to the age now where a major team is too much for him, and perhaps he is thinking the Americans might not notice?
Also I am certain that his wife will fit in better in the shallow world of LA where all that matters is what you look like than she ever did in Milan where personal style is all and she was obviously lacking!
And thought this was quite amusing too. http://fadedyouth.blogspot.com/2007/01/las-responds-to-beckh am-move.html
It would seem she's not welcome anywhere?
I bet deep down Posh is just a nice, ordinary girl ruined by fame and money. It's really difficult to be in the limelight, especially if you're not born to it. I can see her looking at camera shots of herself and seeing all of her faults instead of the pretty face most people would focus on. Seeing her back then made me realise the extend of what she's done to herself as she now looks haunted and starved.
I saw them both together on a chat show once and they looked and sounded so happy.
I don't know what changed for them but it is a shame to lose the closeness they appeared to have just for the sake of money and jealousy.
Perhaps part of what's wrong with her is that there is so little of herself left when she looks in the mirror that she never gets a chance to remember what she was like in the beginning? I have read that stylists and designers choose her clothes and hairstyles. The women in Milan shunned her because she had no 'breeding' and no inbuilt sense of personal style.
The women of LA are shallow and they won't care that she is not a blue blood, she has everything they need in a popular person....money, a handsome husband, a career of her own, a history of cosmetic surgery and good looking children too.
Perhaps this means that there at least she will not be so lonely?
Oooh I shall shortly be over forty!
I am not famous but I think having seen some of the examples set I will certainly not be having botox injections or anything else!! Somehow it just doesn't seem right to mess.
I love the idea of growing old disgracefully.
I want to be the lady from Waiting for God! I think she was wonderfully independent. Getting older should not mean that you can't make decisions for yourself any more.
Getting older should not mean that you can't make decisions for yourself any more.
Not exactly a second childhood, more a case of a second teenhood.
What a scary thought, all that attitude and a pension!
The problem is that the women who do have surgery look false, and the ones who don't look so old next to the ones who have you start thinking 'she needs a facelift!'
Hang on a minute! Why are we just talking about how women look when they grow old? You can't stop nature, it follows that as you age you will get wrinkles, and where you once had curves you will have bumps.
Now, what about men? Look at the state of Sid James - he thought he was a right babe magnet. And those two fools from 'On the Buses' - a couple of old sleeze bags, one of whom looked like a horse - yet in the programme the women fell over themselves to date them. Then we come to poor old Olive - the butt of everyone's jokes, even her husband. There's just no justice!
