We are having our AAV (Annual Assessment Visit) by Ofsted inspectors this week and students have been asked to be on their best behaviour.
We have a lovely group of (mostly) disaffected and under-achieveing 16 year-old students who work exclusively with the literacy and numeracy specialists in my faculty and yesterday afternoon the following conversation took place.
Mark: "Danny, you'd better put your phone away. Remember the inspector is in today. He might walk in and see you using your phone. It will look bad on the teacher if he does."
Danny: (who is hard-of-hearing) "Na, it's alright, Miss said he's off his head."
Mark: "No mate, she said he's from OFSTED".
