We had a tin of Quality Street at work, and I seriously think Nestle could be prosecuted under the Trade Descriptions act for using the word 'quality' in the name.
That didn't stop me scoffing dozens of em like a
They were handing them out in the queue at Sainsbury's on Christmas Eve (individual sweets not tins!) and I chose something at random. God knows what it was but I nearly spat it out on the conveyer belt!
Same in our Sainsburys on Christmas eve and I wasn't impressed. Why don't they give us something we want like a mince pie and a sherry.
Most people buy chocolates at Christmas. Sitting down in front of the movie on Christmas day with a huge tin/box of chocs is a big part of the celebration for a lot of people and has been for many years.
I think the reason people are still buying Quality Street is because they simply always have. With the 'old world' people on the tins they are perceived to be THE traditional Christmas chocolate.
I usually buy a couple of tins at Christmas time and I did again this year, but this is the last time I shall. I don't know what else I will buy instead, perhaps Cadbury's Roses would be a fair alternative? Any suggestions?

I agree, unless they put 'average to poor' in front of it.

Thanks kevvosa.
I am not a fan of orange chocolate, but I didn't think of Celebrations. The children would probably like those.
Perhaps a tin of Celebrations and some Roses next year. Yes I think that might do very well.
Thankyou.

they were handing out celebrations in mine, but it was only 10am so would of been a bit early for sherry
Those lily o brien chocs are YUM YUM YUM
They taste like good chocolate
As for boxes of chocs - i thought cadbury heroes were the best, but we had some celebrations at work and the malteasers are fab. BUT I'm a lily o brien fan now (i think that's what it's called) and i like supporting less popular things!
That's why I'm a Peterborough United fan!
If I am standing in a supermarket queue I can just about drink anything.
Got a tin of Celebrations yesterday and bad news - they're crap too. The galaxy truffle one was just a tasteless lumpAlso they no longer do Topic

My boss brought me a box of Celebrations. I tipped them out on my desk (to separate them into the ones I like and the ones to share) and found out there were no Topics
I have been munching Cadbury's biscuits over the hols, which were in purple tins in a BOGOF offer in Tesco. They have been much more enjoyable than a box of chocolates for me this Christmas.
