Then I am really lucky with my kids because they are not like that.
I am not saying they don't want those things, they are kids after all, but they understand that it isn't possible right now and they're really good.
I wish for a great many things, but when it comes down to the really important stuff, Yes I think I'm lucky.
Yes I agree with that kevvosa.
I also think that they can end up being bitterly dissappointed when they grow up and find out that inevitably real life isn't like that.
My kids get upset over things they can't have, but they handle it well and I'm proud of them for it.
When I was small some plasticine , a doll and some colouring books made me happy on Xmas morning.
I loved plasticine. It was squashy and squidgy and it smelled funny!

Oh do you remember doing that too? Our dog always ate the dice out of all our games so we could never find one to play the games with once we were done.
OH Good Grief I'm OLD!!!!!
When I was small, my greatest joy was my stocking stuffed with little treats you didn't get all year round (new pencils, a drawing book, sweets and tiny oranges). Then i looked forward to the stuffing with the Christmas dinner!
The 'big' presents on the end of my bed were usually new slippers, dressing gown and a new toy. One year it was roller skates. 'Jacko' skates. they kept me going until I was about 16!
The trouble is kids don't even know why we celebrate Christmas and all they are interested in is expensive gifts.
Have you seen the TV advert for Argos, oh it makes me so angry. It's done like a fairy tale, only the Dad is making his son "the happiest boy" by buying him a £100 Scalextric set

Selection boxes usually had a 'spinner' you had to cut out and put a matchstick through, only they didn't work particularly well

Yeah then he goes to the pub, comes back drunk and stands on it.
christmas aint about presents or even jesus these days - it's truly about an atmosphere where everyone's just that little bit nicer to each other. and for that reason, i love it. joy to the world!

The one that annoys me is the one where the boy gets the Ipod and the man gets the Peter Kay book![]()
