To celebrate National Pizza Indulgence Day the world's most expensive
pizza is to be auctioned off online and the proceeds given to charity.
According
to The Bolton News, TV chef Tom Bridge has created a food masterpiece
believed to be worth around £2,000 thanks to a variety of rare and
costly toppings.
Japanese Wagyu beef, exclusive Matsutake
mushrooms and Umbrian truffles will feature as part of the dish, along
with Culatello ham, extra-virgin truffle oil and finely grated Grana
Lodigiano Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
The pizza has been put up
for sale on the auction website eBay and the bids are coming in thick
and fast. The successful bidder will travel to top northern restaurant
Est, Est, Est where Tom will cook the pizza in front of them.
"It's a bit of fun in a good cause," he told The Bolton News. "But someone is in for a real treat!"
"It's very important that all the ingredients are extremely fresh and not prepared until the last minute," he added.
The
cash raised from the sale will go to the Fred Hollows Foundation, an
aid organisation that provides cataract operations for blind people in

And I thought Pizza Express was pricey...

2 medium size thin crust pizzas and a portion of potato wedges and 7 chicken coujons...... £23.20 at Dominos last night.

I recently bought a Chicago Town 'takeaway' pizza from Morrisons, which claimed it would taste as good as your local takeaway pizza - or your money back. Well, of course it didn't taste anywhere near as good! But I didn't apply for my money back because it's not worth it and they'll just start sending me junk mail.

Yes a total rip off but the pizza was nice and I'm trying not to think about how much I spent.
