i like white chocolate but think 'Venus' would taste better if it were milk chocolate and strawberry fondant filled...
but really it wouldn't matter to me as i'd buy it in support of Breast Cancer..
MarsMaketer..would this be World Wide ?
I don't see why a pink filling in itself would be too much smurfy? It would only be a limited edition and has to be different from the original Mars, and pink fits in with the breast cancer theme. There was recently a pink PSP in aid of breast cancer if I remember correctly.
Because how can it be a Mars Bar if it's nothing like one? A Mars Bar doesn't have white chocolate, it doesn't have a pink filling and it doesn't contain cherry or strawberry mousse! It's all very well to say people would buy it anyway because it's in aid of breast cancer, but the whole gimmick is that it's a pink themed Mars Bar called Venus. Just making 'a pink bar' is a completely different project altogether.
Look at it this way - this pink PSP you're talking about was still a PSP; it was just a different colour, just as the Pink Scrabble set you can buy for breast cancer is still a Scrabble set. If you switched the PSP on and discovered it was actually a Gameboy, you wouldn't say 'oh well, it's supposed to be different' would you?
the title says....Mars rebranding to Venus
would this mean that infact it wouldn't be a Mars Bar but a Venus Bar made by Mars..

I see your point, but Peanut Butter KitKat is a variation, not a limited edition version of the original product. I'm not saying a different variety of Mars Bar wouldn't sell either. What I thought we were talking about here was a limited edition for charity.
A Peanut Butter KitKat still contains wafer. Mint Aeros still contain aerated chocolate. They are also products in their own right. If Nestle took the wafer and chocolate away but still called it a KitKat, would it still be one?
What's in a name? Would a Mars bar, by any other name, smell as sweet?
Oldspice! I can't believe you fell victim to one of the most common misquotes of Shakespeare!
Victim? How so?
When did Shakespeare ever eat a Mars bar?
I doubt he did, but he also said a rose by any other WORD would smell as sweet.
Sorry, I went a bit Bounty there didn't I?
Surely you recall this passage from the Tempest:
'Tis with a little ire and most sullen mood that I thrust thee and thy Mars bars assunder. Take ye away and never return with such rotten plunder'
WHat's in a word? Is a name, by any other label, not still a word?
Oh irritating world that has such pedants in it!

I think it means it would be a Mars Bar variation, sold under a different name. It was actually done temporarily last year for the World Cup, when Mars was sold as Believe.
Well MarsMarketer, I think you have done a terrific job so far and I would give you full marks for originality, for linking the product so well to a national cause and for thinking of a name that makes some reference to the original product. Go for your pink nougat and milk chocolate.
Good luck
It would stiil be a Mars bar but the filling would just be a pink colour nougat. I will keep it the normal milk chocolate. So it would still techically be a Mars Bar.
Sounds wonderful to me.
Ahh.. but is lou 'one' woman?
I am a Gemini.
