seeing as we're on the subjkect of halloween and all things spooky, i was wondering what everyone's fave scary movie is? i've always loved films like (the original) 'texas chainsaw massacre', and 'the wicker man'... but they never really 'scared' me.
the ONLY movie to ever evoke a scream and behind-cushion-hiding out of me is 'The Grudge'. jesus - that one really terrified me.
so what's the scariest flick you've ever seen..?
-
The original, John Carpenter, Halloween.
I never watch scary movies anymore.
-
I don't watch scary films but I did watch Ghostwatch when it was 'live' on TV that time and it scared me.
-
I don't watch them. I am too easily scared.
-
Halloween is my fave.
-
I can't be bothered with them. A few months back I saw Final Destination 3 and just found it utterly pointless.
-
Arent most films utterly pointless?
-
What I mean is it was just gore, for the sake of it - there was no plot to speak of, no decent plot development, dialogue or characterisation. That's what I think makes a film worth watching.
-
watched Saw III the other day - that was one of the most grusome films i've ever seen... (and i bloody loved it.)

You're obviously not a horror fan
Half of the films I watch have no plot development and atrocious acting.
-
I like CArry on SCreaming!
I did laugh my way thourgh misaray
Texan chain show masacio...
-
Carrie was reasonable in terms of characters and a half-credible story. The end was also a surprise but I agree that most horror films are gore for the sake of it.

But they're meant to be! That's what people who watch them want - some brainless fun. Same with many action films - people often just watch them to see things being blown up.
-
i don't enjoy scary movies..i do try and watch them when i feel brave tho..lol..and i find if it gets to scary if i turn the sound off..it's okay to watch..anyone else find this ?
-
Don't ask me, I find temporary faults scary!
-
I have been told that the film "Hostel" is very gory right from the start.
I liked the ring, wasn't keen on Saw though.
The original chain saw massacre was on TV a couple of weeks ago and I watched it in bed I didn't really enjoy it but couldn't stop watching though
-
Last night my friend told me she was watching a scarey film. This morning she told me it was Hocus Pocus. Isn't that a disney film?
-
ok, this is not a scary movie, but i just went to watch 'Borat', and i have to say it's one of the funniest movies i've ever seen. so people - go see it now!
-
On the news they were saying Borat has gone too far but I dunno what they were on about.
-
The original Halloween was the scariest for me too. I've never watched one since!

yes, they probably did go a bit far with it. but it's still funny as hell.
